I need Insurance for 8 Passengers + Driver Renault Trafic LHD
Operated as PSV R Small Passengers at Separate fares
Due to the amount of EU cover at least 210 Days Insurance Companies have failed to Quote me. and the fact is it is a Left Hand Drive.
List of companies that have refused to quote
Tradex
QBE
AVIVA
Equity Red Star,
Chaucer
Amlin
This is list is not all of them.
Places I Plan going to.
France
Belgium
Netherlands
Germany
Austria
Italy
Hungary
Spain
I know that while Insurance Companies don't like it Two insurance Polices are not illegal.
So my next idea is One Policy for UK one Policy for Europe.
I know Of friends Getting the UK Reg Car Insured in Spain.
and Heard people doing in Germany and France. obviously the fact this is Transport business might mean its not possible.
I am not expecting this to be cheap £3.5k - £5k a Year at least.
Any Advice or Help.
Thanks

Why don't you limit the time your vehicle is abroad to say under 180 days a year (Which is often the magic number) as this may mean Insurers will quote.
When I say limit, I mean you physically do not take the car abroad for more than 180 days and hopefully save more in premium than you would have if you had worked the extra days.
Have you looked at buying a LHD car registered in say Germany and looking to Insure it there? Continental Insurers tend to be less hung up on vehicles being used outside of their country although their rules on PSV may more strict or less than our own0 -
Business is all based around going to Europe,
Operators Licence is UK Based.
Vehicle is from Germany but has to be UK REG for Licence0 -
Hire a different van for the excess days you need?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
