Hi, me and my husband are going to benidorm in a few weeks, it will be our very first time abroad and would be grateful if anyone could give us any advice to help us, such as our packing, we are going by Ryanair and know we have a 15 kilo allowance on our case between us and 10 kilo hand luggage each, I haven't got a clue what to put in which case or what toiletries we are allowed to take, any advice you could give us we would be really helpful
Thanks in advance:beer:

Put any medication, anything valuable, a change of clothes and anything that you would be really stuck without (in case your hold bag goes astray) in your hand luggage.
Any liquids/paste/gels in containers over 100ml must go in the hold. You may take liquids/paste/gels in containers of 100ml and under in hand luggage, provided that they fit into a sealable clear plastic bag of the correct size/volume https://www.gov.uk/hand-luggage-restrictions/overviewEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Be aware that some airports give away the bags for hand luggage liquids (eg Heathrow) and others sell them at £1 for 2 (eg Manchester)
Havent been to Benidorm for a long time but the Spanish only make up 65% of the population and that doesnt factor in tourists! Personally I like travelling to experience the local culture which is going to be difficult in a place with so little locals there but it would be good to venture out and see what you can find. On the flip side if you are like my mother and couldnt possibly eat anything but British food and only want to talk english etc then its probably a good place.0 -
Good advice above , don't forget any ipads, phones, laptops must travel with you not in the hold bag, then when you go through security they need to be charged and able to be turned on if asked to by security (they have never asked me to by the way) I hope you enjoy your holiday.. if you have any specifice questions I'm sure you will get lots of help here.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

If you want to get out of Benidorm to explore (and you will!), there's an excellent tram service which runs along the coast from Alicante in the south to Denia is the north stopping at various resorts along the way.
Alicante is nice city and well worth a day out. It's much more "Spanish" than Benidrom.

Is that true? I never heard of it...

Yes of course, common sense, but Tanith made it sound like a specific regulation. I so rarely check in a bag that I though I might have missed some new piece of legislation. But it's not like that and if you want to throw a spare phone or whatever in the hold baggage it's not going to be a problem - apart from the risk at Thiefthrow etc...Doshwaster wrote: »It's generally not a good idea to put personal electrical devices into hold baggage because of the risks of damage, loss and theft - plus they give you something to play with during the flight but I don't think they are specifically banned.Evolution, not revolution0 -
Make sure you have both travel insurance and an EHIC.0
