I'm afraid MS Office costs more than £50 for a perpetual licence and the monthly fees for 365 will add up to more than £50 in less than a year. If you are unwilling to pay for MS Office then use the free Libre Office. There is a Mac version

You can get a five device perpetual licence for around £60 for Office 365 on Amazon.

    Thats what i bought.

You can also get a months free trial from Microsoft, then just stick in the code when you buy the package.

Works very well. I've no issues with it.

You have bought a one year subscription, MS do not sell perpetual licences for 365 or multiple retail licences for any other version.

Did you also perhaps get iWork with your Mac, which is also mostly compatible with MS Office documents?

It depends on when OP purchased their MacBook Pro; if it's after October 1st 2013 then they'd qualify for the free iWork Suite. Other than that they'd attract a fee per program from the App Store.

The App Store should allow you to download them for free from that machine assuming you've registered it to your Apple ID

Once its on that machine for free any other machines that use the same ID can also download them for free.

The other thing to check is if your employers are a large company they may have the Home Users Programme where you can buy MS software heavily discounted, was £15 or so from memory for the download version of Office for Mac

The rights to offer the Home Use Program may cost the company money depending on the licence/software assurance deal they have.

When you open the App Store on Your MacBook you'll see 'Get' here to allow you to download Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
