Mini break sounds wonderful. I wish we had done those breaks pre-children but we had no money, worked terrible hours (were passing ships) and were focused on getting on property ladder! Our time will come, maybe when the children sleep through the night and grandparents more willing!

Ooh, Barcelona - wonderful! I went for a long weekend in December, and it was glorious - we stayed at a proper Spanish hotel (almost completely empty), it was fantastic. You've probably seen me say it before, but Barcelona is very like Liverpool with added sunshine - working class city, huge great port, fantastic architecture and two fantastic football teams
