  • I don't use credit cards. It is just too easy to let them build up. I have got very old school recently and gone back to cash. And my spending diary is an old exercise book!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D
  • Thanks Cath and Squirrel.

An exercise book is the wtg.

It is an unpalatable truth but credit card use by more than one person does seem to make it harder to track.

The new agent talked the talk but has brought us zero viewers.

At least the delay has allowed the children to get on board with the idea.

No tracking of spending but I vowed I'd never touch a credit card again after the last mess. Also avoid paying for things on the debit card as I find I don't spend so much dealing in cash...

I am taking my credit card out of my purse, going to withdraw minimal cash out of the bank and prove we can survive!

smallholding: I had a pupil tell me I was "clearly" avoiding paying my taxes because I asked for cash after their cheque had bounced. :rotfl:

No, still teach them. They paid up, now pay via bank transfer (because they felt "uncomfortable" paying cash thereafter) and it's not really the kid's fault, is it?

  • True, Alex.

Well another colleague is leaving because he can't stand the place.

Credit card bill a bit painful (flights, saddle, new tyres).

    NSD except diesel.
