  • Expectations for an air bnb room please?

Cheap, clean, included internet access, and a phone number to contact if there is an emegency. And preferably to see the owner as little as possible.

But I go for low prices so know I can't have high expectations for extras!
  • What is a low price Michelle?

We can't offer broadband since Origin provide us with a service so pitiful.
  • Within the UK I have data so it's not an issue.

Price depends on location, but we got a two bed flat in the middle of Paris for £100/night over the Spring Bank Holiday. Nothing fancy but it was so much cheaper than hotels and was in a great part of the city.

We may not be the kind of people you're aiming at that though. But we generally keep out of the owner's way and clean the place fairly thoroughly before we leave!

I know a house near us has a room up for £40/night but they offer free rides to the airport and I am really not getting involved in competing with that.
  • What about something like 'owners direct' rather than air b n b? No idea how it works, but my parents use it all the time.

I love the paint colour. It reminds me of what I put on the walls of my lounge in my very first house. The room got the sun from about 1pm onwards, which worked really well with the colour.

  • Thanks apple.

What does everyone do for bedding? I am wondering if I can buy from a hotel supplier?
  • Builders reckon they will finish Tuesday. Will believe it when I see it!

I've been looking on pinterest at all the things they think you should provide for an airbnb room.
socks?! There would be about £1.50 profit if you provided all of them. Art materials!?
  • we stayed in a beautiful newly updated garden annex (shed garage conversion) in the south for £80 per night. @bnb add a charge on so we paid £92. My hair was newly coloured and being a hot night, my hair stained their fabulously expensive pillow cases..... So I panicked and scrubbed and scrubbed with kitchen cleaner as it was all they had... got most out, dried it with the iron... The owner never commented.

I suppose I mean anything can happen. Broken crockery, spilt drinks , hair dye on bedding. We have @sda bedding set and a dunlelm one that we rotate. It's perfectly fine. I do need to update towels. I will get supermarket again most likely and use OH discount. plus November they do double discount. I'm going to update the pillows and quilt too...... I'm going to use the rooms stuff and give the room new and chuck mine. We only charge £30 per night... we were getting £29 from that, but @bnb must have changed their charges and we now get £28 ish.

It was super easy to start, literally load the pictures fill in details on the site and you're live... or you can take it down an block dates when you choose....

Our dog keeps barking when guests are in the hall. it makes me uneasy as I wouldn't like it. Our younger daughter won't let me send dog to older daughters. She quite blinkered on not seeing the bigger picture as, We need the money.. We are busy for half the month. often at weekends. We are up to £4k this year  and similar last year... It's been great, but does create a lot of footfall.
I would love not to need it :o
