Well I threw myself off the waggon Friday night but will be back on it after half term.
Getting fed up about selling my house. My life principle has been that if I am not getting what I want I should just try harder. It hasn't worked. I can't post this on the "Waiting for a buyer" thread because if I do then I get personally attacked for being a greedy, stupid, deluded seller who would sell if I only dropped the price by 50k. While I realise I probably would sell tomorrow if I did that, it doesn't make good sense. We are already asking less than comparables in the village (some of them three beds as well).0 -
Selling your home/house can be extremely frustrating. Have you had feedback from viewings and the EA? I often find the house selling board can be quite harsh! I posted a house I was selling once and parts of my home were ripped apart by the thread. Have you asked for advice via this diary instead?0

Hello Fay.
We have had very few viewings. Feedback from here has been kind and acted on.
I just don't think there are many buyers out there and in this price bracket.
The estate agent feedback is pretty bland as they seem to not want to risk the tiniest offence.0 -
I think you might be right about there not being many buyers in the price bracket, where I am looking to buy the cheaper properties go very very quickly. The higher priced properties don't seem to be moving much at all. I know that's not very helpful, as no matter how hard you try you can't magic up more prospective buyers.
Are there any that have sold in the past couple years near you that have different features or arrangement of rooms that might be what appealed to the buyers?
A question that has been quite common amount the EA we've seen has been the question, why did you buy your current house (I've even seen this on property details for houses). Are there any people round your area you could ask what attracted them to buy the house they did?
How are your half term plans looking?0 -
Those are interesting points from EE
I'm not surprised you're fed up, SHS2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
We bought this house because it was the only one in the village for sale with more than two bedrooms!
That said we love the high ceilings, fireplaces, coloured glass, aga and SPACE!
Half term has started with a day at work!0 -
