  • Our end of term madness is done. So tired!

A dilemma has arisen. Apply for a job (after a year in this place) which would save 28 hours a month in travel and at least £150, but where HOD has been described to me by multiple people as a "psycho"?

My immediate reaction is NOOOOOO! The strain on your mental health is an issue. And, dear shs, why are you looking to leave a place that you recently said you liked? Where you get to teach sixth formers.

Tough one with the dilemma, what does your gut say?
  • My gut is on the fence wobbling!

I would miss the sixth form. I would be on hand for the children.

I worked in a place I loved and then we got a 'Psycho' boss, the only people left there 3 years later are the ones who can't get jobs elsewhere. I now work somewhere with a great boss for less pay and am far happier.

I was recently offered a job at another office where the boss also had a 'reputation', I turned it down, they have gone trough two staff since then....

I would never ever work anywhere now where there was any hint that management was poor. Do you know in what way this person is 'psycho'? Are you prepared to work in such conditions? Do you have a backup plan if you hate it?
  • Good questions Darpett. I do not have a back up plan. The psycho boss bullies people. I happen to know she is applying elsewhere.
