Thanks greent.
No I gave it up since I wasn't actually doing any smallholding and none in sight.
A bit depressing!0 -
Broke my fiscal fast already.
£2.40 on orthodontic wax and £7 on a replacement phone battery in the hope of avoiding the purchase of a new one.0 -

Ah - I did wonder - I looked for it when on hols and couldn't find it.smallholdingsister wrote: »Broke my fiscal fast already.

Both seem reasonable purchases to me - wax counts as medicinal imo (assuming it's to stop braces rubbing) and therefore doesn't count as a spend and the battery is potentially money saving. Are you still in contract? - I'm on my 4th handset (Samsung) in just under 2 years - they keep dying but (thankfully!!) 02 keep letting me have just a new handset (same model) as I'm still in contract.

No I'm way out of contract. Its 4 or 5 years old. I guess a new battery is not unreasonable. IF thats the prob.
Loads of washing and clearing up done today and a friend from my old school coming for coffee shortly. She has left there too.

I have had my phone for about four years but it now won't run a lot of apps that I use because it can't cope with their updates. So I am scrounging around my nieces and nephews for one of their much newer discarded models!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Good idea Squirrel.
I am hoping it is just the battery. It won't charge above 50% and lasts about two hours now.0 -
I have a smartphone, but I've never set up the smart bit
I'm way, way out of date on phones
Hope you can figure out the battery thing, SHS. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC.
In moneysaving news I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mr T washable suits. DH was gifted one and he ALWAYS spills food down himself.
I also discovered my interview suit is washable. By...er...reading the label, and that a gifted linen jacket I have is also washable by trial and error.
