Mind you, this is also the same son who corrected his English teacher (HOD!) after she used to wrong word, their instead of they're!
Good for himit drives me crazy when I see that sort of thing
SHS sorry you're feeling overwhelmed - the animals and your own kids keep you grounded to an extent, of course, but make their own demands on you. And you have your own priorities, about moving! Planning carefully seems the only way forward, but it *is* your half termhope you get some downtime too :kisses3:

Drives him crazy too Karmacat, although it drives his friends crazy when he is correcting them all the time.
I don't think his teacher expected much from him to be honest, she was one of the new staff brought in when it became an academy and didn't know his history. All she saw was a very small (even now at almost 18 he is only just 5ft), very withdrawn child with a statement and a very poor attendance history due to illness and disabilities so had pretty much written him off.
He is now at college and is achieving 3 x Distinction* at level 3. Not bad for a student who didn't go full time at school until halfway through year 6 and who, even then, had to spend multiple periods of time in hospital and lost pretty much all his support in his GCSE years as younger students needed the provision he was mandated to receive thus leading him to mentally breakdown and withdraw even more.
The previous staff prior to it being an Academy knew of his potential despite his problems and had worked blooming hard to help him some way to achieving it, alas there was a mass removal of staff/staff not happy so leaving once the new regime was in place. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Gosh Singlesue your boys sound like live wires.
Thanks KC. The girls have just told me they *hate* the house I am eyeing up!
Plops plopped. Stopped to chat with a few people...a woman who has a NF pony like the plops but who we don't actually know...a woman from church who couldn't find her bonnet opening catch. She has only had her car ten years...
Reminds me of the old Morris Minor joke. Woman has the brakes fail on her Moggie, mechanic asks has she had the fluid reservoir topped up regularly.
She replies, perplexed, "But I don't live near any reservoirs".0 -
