What annoys me is people that describe people that do 45 in a 60 as dangerous. When in fact the dangerous one is them that sit too close then overtake close to bends and dips

Driving at 45 in a 60 is not dangerous in itself but it generally has the effect of causing a dangerous situation to manifest itself - in the frustrations of those road users behind who's progress is being directly impacted. The slow driver is exhibiting a complete lack of consideration for their fellow motorist who in turn has built up frustration and lost respect for the slow driver as a road user. This is the exact reason why (in my time) driving instructors taught us to get up to speed and why you can fail your driving test for driving too slowly.

I would suggest that any driver who wishes or is forced to drive significantly below the speed limit for the road (not just their vehicle) should pull off the road at very regular intervals to allow following drivers to pass and proceed at their normal pace without feeling provoked into doing something that might put anyone in danger.

Bear in mind that we are all different. We all have different driving styles and personalities. We all have different frustration thresholds and reasons for acting the way we do. We may have factors that are prevalent that even cause us to act out of normal character on a certain day - a driver may be desperate to get home because his child has been rushed to hospital which causes him out of desperation to tailgate and overtake on a blind bend ...we as drivers of our own cars just don't know what's going on in the lives of the those behind us. The only thing we can do is be as considerate as we possibly can.
