how would you run the country

I would erect zip wires on all London skyscrapers, traversing London in Lots of strategical ways and charge tourists a packet to ride them.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0

I would nationalise some industries, buses and trains, energy ... things that provide a basic standard of living. I would build more affordable houses, but I would set limits for housing benefit, If two people live in a house then benefit for two people, not per house, I would only give benefits for the first two children born after 2017, unless the second birth is twins etc.
Certain benefits would include working a 15 hour working week for the good of the community. There would be no working tax credits, instead there would be a real living wage of something like £9 an hour so that people will not have to rely on benefits whilst working, but could actually afford a real standard of living for their hard work
I would charge for some medical treatments, you break your leg and need crutches, that'll be a £20 deposit refundable when you return them in perfect working order, you have to be take to hospital due to being drunk ... fine
I would introduce ( in Scotland) a system where people can donate towards prescriptions ( England etc as well if that's what they wanted) I would though fine Dr's for giving out wasteful prescriptions, and fine pharmacists for wasteful prescriptions.
have a tax band of 20% for everyone including millionaires but nothing can be claimed on expenses or tax relief etc... earn over £15k pay tax at 20% thats it. If a company was to pay a worker in kind ... say a new car instead of a wage then the value of that car would be taxed at 20% and taken from their wage etc
I would set a corporation tax of 10% of any money made over £50k... and that would include companies like starbucks amazon etc... I would look at the size of their company and take a % of their world wide profits ( no doubt tucked away in Switzerland) which would cover the size of the country I would be running ( preferably Scotland) and then 10% of the profit over £50k on that ...
I would put all politicians up in athletes village so that they dont have to claim for second homes, I would insist their champagne etc is not subsidised by the people and that they have a lunch amount of £5 a day to claim only when they are working, so many more things I could add here.
I would lock the public sector wage rises into each other ... Ie nurses get the same % as Dr's who get the same % as police who get the same % as politicians.
I would stop the subsidies of green energy but would insist every new building has thermal and solar power installed, eventually rolling out to every building in the country, I would actively encourage community ownership and control of their resources and empowerment to them if for example they chose to build a huge wind turbine and with the profits fed back into the main frame chose to subsidise people on benefits having more money for housing benefit then that would be up to them.
So many things I would do0 -

I have a silly idea, I could make some pieces of paper that inexplicably everyone wants and are willing to swap their labour and goods for my pieces of paper - wacky huh!I think....0

Better still you could put people in prison if they didn't give you back some pieces of paper because you decided you are in charge of who owns the paper.
All you really need to think about is the colour the paper should be.0 -
Ready, steady, go. Blank sheer of `paper`
I'm inclined to follow the sensible option. Let the civil servants run the country, while I put my feet up and have a cup of coffee. (I don't like tea that much.)So basically neo-feudalism. Like it.
Lord Generali of Sydney has a certain ring to it.
Although I might tackle the deficit by re-activating the sale of hereditary peerages. £10m for a barony, £25m for a viscountcy, £50m for an earldom, and a £100m for a dukedom. How does that sound? .
There must be oodles of super-rich Russian oligarchs, Chinese multi-millionaires, and suchlike, who would be keen to buy that kind of entry into society.
After all, it was good enough for Lloyd George....0 -
I would dictate that everyone had to wear Viking helmets on Tuesdays.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

sell off Scotland
although it's a massively loss making region, there must be a oligarch who would fancy funding it as a tax loss and a safe haven if case they need a urgent refugee0 -

Surely Thursday (Thor's Day) would be more appropriate?'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my father. Not screaming and terrified like his passengers.' (Bob Monkhouse).
Sky? Believe in better.
Note: win, draw or lose (not 'loose' - opposite of tight!)0
