    It's all down to luck!

I started in February this year and won my first prize in May (a small one)! Then nothing until July where I won four big prizes!

I've only been doing it for a few months but have already realised people have to stop depending on it and seeing winning as a bonus.

There's no skill or tips and tricks that can help you except entering as many as you possibly can.

Just have fun doing it and stop taking it so seriously.

    Good luck people xx

I have entered 3200 comps so far in August and have won 3 prizes. I've been entering roughly the same amount all year and before August had won 3 small prizes for the whole year, so I do think it's completely luck of the draw

some take it serious & some enter for fun,
    up to the individual,
personally I enter for fun & have done for years,
enter, forget, win/don't win it's all part of the game :D

Instead of donating a prize to charity because you don't want/need it, why not let those who want it win it?

Very few people "need" a particular prize and anyone could want to win prizes specifically to donate them.
If someone wishes to give more to charity than the cash they have to spare (if any) then donating items is another way to support them and if the items are brand new so much the better.

This depends on the value of the item and if it sells or not in a charity shop.

Anyone else enter hundreds to thousands of comps but never seem to win? Only thing i've ever won is a tablet case and that was back in march-april. I started comping when I joined here. I do think a lot of it is down to if you're a "lucky" person, which I'm not, obviously :p I'm not toooooo bothered because it's more of a hobby than anything, but still, would be nice to get something back from all the effort I put in. Big thanks to all that post the comps, couldn't do it without you!

I think last time we worked it out, the average win was 1 in 1300 competitions entered. Have a look at this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5297728

There is a link to a spreadsheet in the first post, this will show you how many comps peeps enter every day and how many prizes they have won. There's a page for each month going back as far as Feb I think.

Personally I average 30-40 a day and have a few wins per month, I only ever enter for prizes that I want and I'm pretty lucky because I believe that I will win. As long you say you're not winning then you won't, try believing that you will!. You might think that's mumbo jumbo but the proof is in my signature. Good luck and hope something nice comes your way soon.

to peanutbutter..... try doing the mag dailys 25 each for most mags I seem to be lucky with them but I do them EVERY day so guess the more times I enter the same comp I stand a better chance,
    good luck

Tbh those are the ones I don't tend to do, because I feel like the chances of them are a lot slimmer? Maybe that's something I should consider, thanks! :)

great thank you! I actually won something the day after I started this thread :rotfl:typical. It was something small but wanted all the same! I love comping for the fun of it, but like I said a win is a bonus. And I must take your advice and start believing I can win :p wish me luck??? Haha!
