Instead of donating a prize to charity because you don't want/need it, why not let those who want it win it?

A lot of competitions have several prize tiers so you can often end up with runner up prizes that you don't want - I won a DVD I didn't want a few weeks ago, the main prize was a Blu-ray player which was what I entered for. Also, with prize bundles you don't necessarily want everything in the winning package.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

obviously because at any one time the same prize is on offer from lots of different comps, if firefly wants the dvd or whatever she enters all available comps, she then may be lucky enough to win the same dvd more than once, she won't be entering to win the dvd if she has already won it.

I'm not sure it's that obvious really. It looks like some compers enter all competitions and then decide what to do with the prizes

hi, it's not because I don't/want need it, I enter
lots of comps running the same dvd/books prize so enter
them in hope of winning & sometimes we can win the same prize .. as jan says..

so if there's a win again for the same prize it's a great gift
to donate to whoever/which place you choose.

Each to there own, not up to anyone to dictate what you should or should not enter, Or what you do with your prizes.
  • I don't think it has anything to do with being a "lucky" person - it's a numbers game. There was a point I probably entered several hundred a day, the number of prizes a month didn't vary all that much, I'd normally have one or two bigger prizes and a scattering of smaller ones. But as soon as I even did half the amount of competitions - my prizes didn't just drop to half that amount, but to the odd one hardly ever! Recently I cut back to perhaps 30 a day or less, I won a prize a month if I was lucky and it wasn't a good prize either! From my experience, I win both big & small when I put huge effort in, when I put any less than a massive effort in, I've learnt to expect absolutely nothing and be grateful for any prize I get. If you'd like to win much more and have time, you need to put in the hours.
Some best wins: £5,000 with hotels4u, 3D tv with ipad and sky for a year, another ipad, Hudl tablet, Sony z1 Xperia mobile, Spa break and £300 spa treatments, hotel chocolat hampers!

hi, not sure how long you've been comping but if you search the chat corner & old posts you'll find lots of compers enter & donate prizes that have been won that are duplicated ie:

I enter/win quite a lot & none of it is 'junk' or
    worthless crap :)
each prize is found a good home for with family/friends/relatives with children etc,
donations to charities if it's a prize
we've had before ie: dvds/books which all help
    support them,
have also won high value prizes/big money prizes along
with the small prizes & value each prize won as the same
& value each poster who posts them up for us whether it's a small or big prize,
the only 'tat' in name i've won was actually a beautiful necklace
    from www.tattydevine.com  :D
eta.. & that was worth over £150.

I'm guessing you donated your fish slice then bet the charity shops love you! :rotfl:

It varies how many I enter each day, and varies how much I win. I hadn't had a win for months but then this week was lucky enough to have 3! I just look at each comp as a raffle and your name has to be in the pot to have a chance! As the saying goes...you've gotta be in it to win it!
    Comping since 2014!
