:rotfl: Indeed, I am horrified.
... you'd really hate me in 'real life'.
Not likely I haven't found anyone on the earth I hate as yet! I'm a very understanding and tolerant hippy! It's one of the main things I'm trying to install into the miniOCC. People may be different from us but everyone's like they are for good reason. That's why his classmates come to school in range rovers and sports cars and he goes in a berlingo! We have to tolerate they haven't learnt how fabulous berlingos are yet
I'm not much is a spreadsheet fiddler! Although I love the terminology. I do like stats though, can't help myself. I have a house with 138 squares I'm colouring in. MiniOCC usually gets to actually colour it so is involved with the savings!
Stats are the main stay of the MFW whether it's reduced mortgages, Amounts saved, interest reductions or years off the term we all love the stats! See below!0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:
It's great being amongst like minded souls and I can come out of the closet about my (mostly) weekly meter readings too...of course they have a spreadsheet of their own and I track average daily usage from it.
Is this for real?Don't think DS has a girlfriend, more the hairdresser styled it to suit his face without him protesting. He's also now terrified of growing it long again (it was past his shoulders until the Spring) after his Science teacher told him it would need to be tied back. I owe that teacher
I'm never going to live spreadsheet fiddler or the ecobox down :rotfl:
What happened with first love girl a while back?
:rotfl: At the long hair and surprised it took that long for him to realise it's not a good look.
Of course you won't live down your spreadsheet fiddler, ecobox ways down, Ali ... you've me to remind you.ourcornercottage wrote: »Not likely I haven't found anyone on the earth I hate as yet! Get yourself something old with a V8, you'll never look back.
As for tolerance, I'm getting better as the years pass. My son is probably more tolerant than I, though.ourcornercottage wrote: »I'm not much is a spreadsheet fiddler! Totally real Alex. 2 min job once a week, numbers typed in, spreadsheet does the rest for me and hey presto, the pattern through the year is set and it means I know what my bills will look like and can be ahead of whether my DD is ahead or behind...and alter accordingly.
Girlie who appeared at our front door...well, he claims she was a bit too lively for his laid back quiet style, though he still sees her in the school library alot. Maybe something going on...
Ahh you'll keep me on the MFW straight and narrow - then I'll find reason to have spreadsheets for something else
Bet Little K would love colouring in a brick house - there's a free summer activity for you bothBack on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Mine go to school in a Citroen C1!! And that's including 9yr old niece who gets dropped off at ours in the morning in a Mercedes. Naturally i make sure i park in between the Range Rovers and Audi's, emerging from my lawn mower engine powered paperweight in shorts and crocs, knowing i get looks!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

......and you've read the above and have no comments on spreadsheet fiddling.......
The good thing about having a c**p car is that when the range rovers hit you in the incredibly small school car park you don't give two hoots but the smug one with the new Porsche is gutted. I'm not joking one of the cars costs more than my mortgage
Edited might I add, as I haven't explained properly that it's actually a White berlingo van, not even a car!0 -

I'm really quite worried about you, dear.Girlie who appeared at our front door...well, he claims she was a bit too lively for his laid back quiet style, though he still sees her in the school library alot. Maybe something going on...
Nicely played, Ali's son, very nicely played. :TAhh you'll keep me on the MFW straight and narrow - then I'll find reason to have spreadsheets for something else

Fancy sorting my life out?
Son probably would like that but I know I wouldn't keep it up to date. I've tried and failed miserably at fiddling the spreadsheets.ourcornercottage wrote: »......and you've read the above and have no comments on spreadsheet fiddling.......

You wouldn't care if someone hit your car? Frankly, I'd be livid even if it was my LR.
As for school, my son will be walking there with the dog and I.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
I usually walk except when I have to go straight off to work. Come rain or shine we wonder along. The crossing lady loves us as she has to come out and we are usually her only 'customers' on rainy days!
That reminds me, talking about bad school driving the previous (very old) crossing lady got knocked off her feet by a ***** going to fast near the school. Was laid up for an age poor thing. Don't feel sorry though she's a 5th Dan in spiritual combat and a feisty old dear, when she gets her hands on them I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.
Prangs are a weekly occurance in school car park, you just can't worry about it, that's what insurance is for. Life is too short. Also BF managed to reverse into someone once so can't moan too much! I have a new strategy to park near the cricket score board sign thingy now though round the back. More space and less range rovers there!0 -
Having said all that, I'm proud of what I've achieved on my own with home and business. And we're coming out the other side like you now. I should be ok when I come to re-mortgage, fingers crossed!
And so you should be proud. It's no joke being a single parent and having a career.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
:rotfl: On the occasions I'll drive son to school, I'll take the Series
... no one would dare park anywhere near it.
ETA: Picture for illustrative purposes, mine is not that 'pretty'.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000
