Not the best deal ever but might be of interest to someone.

On the 'My Offers' section of 'My Sky' you can currently (until 9th August) get Sky Movies for £1 per month for six months when you take out a Sky Sports subscription. Making a total of £26.50 per month, a saving of £8 per month over the usual cost, or £48 in total.

I called Sky and they confirmed this offer does not lock you into a new minimum term (although the order page does say '12 month minimum term on all services') either for Sports and Movies, or for your overall TV package.

It will, however, cancel any other offer on your TV account so if you have other offers in place that you want to keep, don't take this offer.

31 day standard notice period to cancel. If you cancel Sky Sports within the six month period, you lose the £1 per month movies component and will pay full price for Sky Movies (£17 per month, I believe, without Sky Sports).

Offer most likely does not include HD, which unless you're on the HD legacy pack, will be £5.25 per month extra, I believe. I can't confirm this as I am on the HD legacy pack but that's how I believe it will work.

Offer likely not available to existing customers, though if you are a current Sky Movies and/or Sports subscriber you could always phone up and ask to cancel both services to see if they give you this offer as a retention deal (or maybe even a better one!).

Is this the total price or do you have to add on the price of your TV pack ?, if you add the £26.50 to what you currently pay for your TV pack how does this get to £48 , I thought the TV packs were £20 , £30 or £36

It's for Sky customers, so you need to be an existing subscriber to a TV package. To my knowledge, Sky don't currently permit you to have Sky Sports or Sky Movies as a standalone subscription without an entertainment package subscription (except via NowTV).

Sky Sports and Movies together is usually £34.50, so this is a saving of £8 per month over the usual price. Over the six months the deal runs for, you would save £48 off the usual price of having Sky Sports and Movies together.

So yes, you would need to add the cost on to your existing TV package. The price of £26.50 only takes into account the Sports and Movies sub, not the cost of any TV package, HD pack, multiscreen sub that a person may also have.
