I don't think you really should have too much to worry about. It seems like they understand you may not always be admitted to the state hospital. Make her carry a copy of her certificate with the telephone numbers. Don't worry as the greedy private hospitals will make damned sure that she is covered by insurance.

    However I've just read this :- http://www.moneysupermarket.com/community/forums/t/travel-insurance-greivance-advice-needed-48375.aspx

    & this http://www.staysure.co.uk/news/2014-08-06/travel-insurance-myths-explained

Moving you from a private facility (if you have not been admitted to a state registered hospital) where the standard of treatment might be inadequate or the price of treatment inflated for tourists.

Always remember that your travel insurance does not cover the cost of private medical treatment unless it has been approved by Emergency Assistance Facilities.

If you are worried I'm pretty sure she can cancel the policy and get a better one within 7 or 14 days. It would probably only be around £10 extra or so for a better one. There are FAR more private hospitals than State ones in USA. I think it's just budget policies that exclude private hospitals?

Thanks for your time, there is no way I am going to get her to change it this late in the day she goes first thing tomorrow. And I am being told not to worry by OH too. :o

I have printed out the sheets I put link to so hopefully she will follow that if it is not an absolute emergency which as you say there seems to be contingency for.

Just to make sure she carries a copy with her at all times now. I am really nervous about this trip as she is travelling alone and her boyfriend is meeting her over there. Trials of being a parent.

If anyone has been thinking about the nectar summer rewards promotion stop thinking and go and DO IT NOW :D

officially it finishes on August 11th but its a bit ambiguous - I think it might actually finish tonight at midnight but rather than take any chances I've done my rewards now - 6 vouchers for Pizza Express - one a week to use in the next 6 weeks as you can use them up until the end of September :j

so the nectar accounts are at a new low but if sainsburys mycoupons keep giving me 200 or 300 each week the totals will go back up again eventually.

I've not done the cinema one as we don't have a Vue anywhere near but we have been having nice Pizza Express lunches in all sorts of places - 1000 gives you a voucher for 2 mains (pizza, pasta meal or salads, plenty of choice so you never have to eat the same thing twice) 1000 = £5 of nectar points

Do you have to book or can you walk in with these vouchers.
