If anyone is carefree and not weighed down by the usual obligations of work, children and bills on cruise.co.uk this morning there is a nice P and O cruise for some winter sunshine and heat - 14 nights going December 7th so you get back just in time for Christmas.

The ship is called Oceana, not the newest and it was looking a bit tired when we went last year but not enough to make any real difference, they are all comfortable and gorgeous .

Ports are Lisbon, Cadiz, Gibraltar, Cartegena, Casablanca and Madeira - it starts and finishes in Southampton
These are all ports whereby you dock very close to town so you can just walk on and off the ship as and when you fancy (except Casablanca) - no worries about shuttle buses.
In Gibraltar the local mini buses take you between the boat and town for £1.50 each way and there are always tourist buses on the quay but generally you are not in port for more than an afternoon.

Cartegena is fabulous - I saved someones blog the other day which is a comprehensive walk around tour.

Stay on the ship in Casablanca - its horrendous 3rd world place, sorry that's not very pc but its not a place you feel very safe walking around in.

Quite a few sea days on the way back and a chance you might not get to Madeira if the weather turns bad. The bay of Biscay can also be entertaining.

I think this must be a saver fare so you pay everything up front, your cabin will be a guarantee so you wont know exactly were you are until a few weeks beforehand and you wont get a choice of table or of your sitting for dinner.
Having said that we have always done OK with these sort of deals. Only once were we on a table of 8 with an ancient rocker who was a crashing bore but we got moved on the next evening, the waiters took pity on us :D

The best bit is the price - I've never as far as I can think seen such low prices for insides and outside cabins.
we can a balcony last time, this was January, it got some usage but not much and the sliding door stuck so was hard to open and shut - so you might as well have an outside and save £200.

£499 per person inside - so £35 per night
£599 outside per person - - so £43 per night
£799 balcony per person - so £57 per night

yes I would have been on the phone now, sadly too close in dates to when we are going - the annoying thing is our final payment date is in about 3 weeks time but if we swapped now we would loose a lot of onboard credit

Mhoc I can't imagine Casablanca could possibly be worse than Data,! Now that was a hell hole, and a scary one at that.

Good morning 3Dogs:hello:how are those doggies ...obviously keeping you very busy;)

They are Nanny. I must post photos of my 3 woofers soon. Just got to put them onto photobucket or whatever, and never get round to it. Busy helping organising a Family Fun Day and Dog Show for 5th September at the moment, which is taking some doing, but hopefully the weather will be kind to us and it will be a success

Families and money grrrrr, there is always one. Try to enjoy your memories of a wonderful lady :A

Back from Ipswich, just a quick in and out. DH went into Sports Direct whilst I browsed, nay, shopped in B & M. Nothing of interest really. New coffee mug for me, bag of Treacle Toffee for me, a pack of Irn Bru for me and 2packs of biscuits for the family. I am so thoughtful :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

red rose Im sure you will love living over in these parts :)

You have reminded me AJ of a trip to Ipswich Sports Direct a few years ago. We entered a mixed open golf event at Felixstowe GC and when we arrived at the B&B we had booked for a couple of nights, I realised I hadn't brought my golf shoes, hence a rushed trip to Ipswich where I found a nice pair, cheap too, at Sports Direct, and they saved the day :D
Stoma nurse came out. Lovely lady, they don't generally do home visits. She has put a different bag on, along with some magic paste which is apparently the key to a good seal. The issue with mine is where it is, as I thought. It's right down in my groin, so when I sit/move its in a crease. She is going to pop in tomorrow on her way home which I thought was lovely of her.

Mr 3Dogs struggled with his stoma bag at first with it keep leaking. Stoma Nurse then tried out a different sort that was 'creased' across and it was much better after that. His was the same, though not in the groin, it was were they had removed his bladder after finding the cancer, and with taking so much away, it formed a hollow so a flat stoma bag was no use. Hope you get on OK with the new ones LS x x x
