I'm not the one watching Dirty Dancing at the moment! But you're right, here's a proper tune for you:

Well I said this morning I was having an odd sort of a day.

Our builder was coming next week to re model the en suite - it then went from 5 days down to 3 and now we are off the list altogether - he managed to escape 2 years ago and we have not been able to get him back since - it's not his real full time job - he does actually have a proper job, the building work is a side line which he is actually very talented at to the point if being OCD

Actually a bit relieved as it gives me a bit if breathing space to get all of the materials, in my own time, properly researched and without paying a fortune
(Eg the tiles we were looking at yesterday when I checked the reviews the tiles looked pink in situ not white so that could have been an expensive mistake )

Also 2 big events coming up over the next week ( hence the obsessive house scrubbing ) so more than enough to think about

OCD builders are good and worth hanging onto! My usual builder is retiring at the end of the year :( He's also a bit of a perfectionist. He's very annoying because he thinks he can sing :o but the quality of the work makes it bearable.

I had my annual gas check this afternoon. The guy who did it has been here before and I might have told the embarrassing story of when he did? Anyway he'd had 2 cancellations and rang to see if he could arrive slightly earlier. that was ok but he wasn't in a hurry to go away! I remembered he likes his t-bag left in the cup :rotfl:
He introduced himself and I thought ' I have forgotten you Daryl' :D but I was polite and even gave him some advice. I'm just glad I've removed the Viz annual from the toilet as that's what kept him in there so long the last time he visited

Yes and he has Internet in the staff room but I think he is reading when they go on expeds
    - they sea kayak to little islands and camp up there for days - no electric, no road access, back of beyond

I've found about 10 2nd hand book places - some will even deliver so this should be a good learning curve for him - I've also said to talk to the girls in the office, local knowledge is always good :)

I have one of the first kindles and usually good for at least 4 books before it needs charging to perfect for his treks. Would save a lot of money over time. A sensible thing and an excuse to treat him. I believe Mr T had them for £35 a couple of weeks ago. Equal to the cost of sending him 3 books out and he will have far larger range of books to choose from.
