But I have an issue/hangup from my childhood.
My parents would give us £x amount for birthday/xmas, and never put any thought into a gift. If we asked for an item, they would buy this but only if it was within the allowance (not a penny over).
I do the opposite for the kids. I want them to have a present from us and something that he will enjoy and love... hence the Apple.
For all our kids, we have celebrated their 17, 18, 20 and 21 birthday.... I rather like celebrating their birthdays. For the 17th they got a banger of a car, for their 18th they had a party, small gift and car insurance, for their 19th, small gift and car insurance, 20th marked the end of their teenage years, so it was a party, small gift and car insurance etc.... they all received 'car insurance' as their main birthday presents but only whilst they are in education.
DS3, left school at 17 and has done really well, he is the only financially independent child that I have!
If you can afford to get it and want to and he's responsible get it for him thenI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

Years ago my uncle died the 1st week into around the world cruise they had saved years for. He had to go into cold storage until they docked somewhere that could bring him own. Apparently they have cold storage on the large cruise ships specifically for this!
On the saga rose they had space for 12 residents:eek:
Yes cruise ships have very good hospital facilities. Gp on a free jolly and 2 paid nurses normally. Very nice job if you want to see the world.

Evening
Day 2 of how to empty your bank account for me today. I had a visit to the school uniform shop £303 _pale_ and that was one of everything each except trousers which they got 2 of each  Sent DS2 into the changing room to try on the trousers. He's too old for me to go in with him now without us getting funny looks
He came out and the pair I'd given him were too big. I didn't choose my words carefully enough and said ok, take them off instead of 'go back into the changing room and take them off'He just stood in the middle of the shop and took them off whilst I was looking at Blazers

Evening All,
Thank you Dee Dee for your finds. Picked up some Original Source.
Found a glitch with the tic tacs, bought a strawberry pack and two mint, paid £1 and got 72p back with APG and 35p TCB. So 3p for 3 and one more pack needed for a free cinema ticket.
Edit: I also bought the Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner not on the APG but that is no longer in the 2 for £2.
