May be within BTs T&Cs, but doesn't feel right.

There probably isn't anything that can be done, but I am feeling conned by BT at the moment, and really just wanted to sound off a bit. Of course if someone else has been in similar circumstances and managed a sensible resolution it would be great to hear about it.
The basic situation is that we have BB and unlimited calls from BT. The minimum term for this ends on 15th Sep. We have also paid our line rental saver until 23rd Feb 2016.
Given the appalling speed on our BB and the fact that it is unlikely to ever be improved by BT, we have decided to go with 3 mifi, which gives us about 5 meg download instead of the 0.3 meg max we tend to get from BT. I phoned up today to discuss cancelling the broadband once the minimum term had expired, only to be told that if I did that, then we would be automatically re contracted on the phone for another 12 months.
This may be within the T&Cs, but morally it can't be right. The explanation given was that as we pay our phone and broadband on one contract, you cannot remove an element of it without re contracting. Probably cutting my nose off to spite my face, but I am inclined at the moment to say "goodbye BT" and write off the lost LRS (T&Cs of which I have no problems with).
I'm not naive enough to expect companies to cater for every case, but if BT were willing to work with me, I would have been willing to keep paying them for the call bundle until the LRS runs out.

Pretty sure that is not correct. If it was then it would be impossible to leave BT since the phone and BB minimum terms are often not the same (eg 12 mnoths line rental and 18 months fibre BB).
I would check the T&C because i am pretty sure the BT rep was telling porkies. I have recently switched from BT so have been contacting them a fair few times over the past month and not once have been told the truth. They are on a par with TalkTalk now for the trying to tell the most outrageous BS to customers and see if they notice.0 -
As above .
You have ALR until Feb 2016 that continues .
If you cancel broadband at the end of your contract then line continues it does not re contract .
Complain via your members area help BT community forum as a CS is likely to pick it up .

Oh i see you have this identical posted already on the BT forum0 -
IIRC BT introduced a 12 month rolling contract if you took the "free evening and weekend" option. This was a long time ago and may now not be the case but worth checking.0

Without going into to much personal detail. My daughters partner kicked her out last month and promptly handed their flat back to the landlord. This is where my daughters problems start the phone, broadband and BT vision is her name, she has phoned to cancel but BT want £400+ to cancel which seems to me to be rather excessive and given her circumstances pretty ruthless. Can anyone advise me on how to proceed.0

Ruthless of not, if she was still within the minimum term of the contract then that is what probably needs to be paid. Her circumstances are of no concern to BT.
You really should have started a new thread for this.0
