...and onto our doorsteps?
I'm getting chuggers knocking on our door on a weekly basis now.
It's annoying and consdiering putting a no canvassing sign up.
But all the no casnvasing signs seem to come across unpolite to actual guests.

Just print-out (in 4-point font) a sign that reads -
'Notice to Charity Collectors and leaflet deliverers
By knocking on my door, ringing the bell or posting your leaflets through my door, you agree to pay me a sum of £100.
This must be paid within 30 days to avoid legal action'
Laminate and stick to inside of window (if your door has one) or outside of door.Never Knowingly Understood.

Back in June, there were about four of them operating outside our Pets at Home branch, but collecting for the RNLI.
People offered cash donations, but these were refused, as commitment to regular bank payments was required.0 -
Which means they were working on commission, not collecting for the RNLI.0

An increasing number of councils are either placing restrictions on Chuggers or banning them completely.0

Plenty at work, in Brighton today.. the vague 'charities' that they want people to support i've not heard of..breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0

Why anyone would give bank details to anyone on the street or at the door for a contribution mystifies me.
And I'm not going to hand over cash to you either.
For the same reason I don't put money in those buckets waved in front of my nose. How do I know the bucket holder is not going to scoop it all out and have a night on the tiles? I know, I know, they are not all like that.
I am a teeny bit sceptical about all this in your face stuff TBH.0 -
How do you become a chugger?
Do you have to do especially badly at school and then really not have any idea what you want to do when you grow up?0 -
I've had them round the doors for the Red Cross a few months apart. Then for an earthquake in Asia, I told them it was Karma for killing whales and shut the door.
I just say No, and if they start the but we depend on you. F*ck off, and door shut.
As I am in an upstairs 1st floor flat, I can see them going round doors before they get to me. So know not to open the door.0
