Windows 10 Is it possible to get rid of Bing for good?

Hello
After about 7 hours before the install was complete I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my 'old' laptop. I have run Malwarebytes etc and there were no threats but, despite 'setting' Google as my homepage and default Search Engine, every now and again 'Bing' comes back.
I have already tried about four different ways of disabling it (using Google search links) but with no success. I am using Firefox and I have not been able to find Internet Explorer - just Microsoft Edge which I don't want to touch yet. If anyone can help I'll appreciate it, thank you.
Sometimes when I follow links to disable Bing the thing I am told to look for is not there. So far I have not been able to find the control panel to pin to the taskbar so any advice would be welcome here too, please.

What's bothering you about Bing if you are usind Firefox? Just select your own Search engine.
If it's because Cortana uses it......See HERE...
Just type Internet Explorer into the start menu to find IE...Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I think I somehow managed to disable Cortana. I'm very pleased to have things sorted now - thanks, once again, to you all on this forum.

Thank you Enfield Eddy. I'm not sure how I did it but thought I had disabled Bing. Do I need to do more to get rid of it, please. I don't like it ' taking over' when I think Google is my 'saved' search engine and homepage.
If it cannot be deleted is there a good reason for this, thank you?

I'm afraid I was much too hopeful - Bing is back! I'm not good with technology and I find it frustrating. Despite choosing Google as my default search engine Bing keeps coming back.
I still have my 'newer' Windows 8.1 laptop to fall back on but I'm trying to learn. (Moving from Windows 7 to Windows 10 was to encourage me to learn.)
As well as Bing being back and my HP Printer listed as the default one - it won't work. I keep trying all different searches to try solutions but no success so far. The link was there to click for test page but it failed. I found this in Properties: "Device SWD\PRINTENUM\WSD-8609f7e2-80ac-4efb-9e81-5d8826bedc0d.0067 requires further installation." yet it said it was installed and ready.
As always I'll be grateful of any advice, please.
Update - I honestly have no idea how I managed it but by 'fiddling' and clicking etc I somehow managed to get the printer to work. I hope it's a permanent fix. Thank you for the help given.
