Help with mis sold vodafone contract

Hi . I received a call from Vodafone UK on 7th July 7 pm. The man that rang said I was going to be rewarded for being a loyal and valued Customer etc, I was very suspicious but he seemed genuine and confirmed my details. Anyway I was offered a free tablet, which was of no use to me but he said what phone did I have? He could sort me out with a phone for being a great Customer for free, he would even waiver the usual delivery charge. Fantastic I said, an early upgrade (mine's due Jan) so I waited for delivery of my iPhone 5c. It came, I called (3 times) to get a nano sim sent out as I wanted to keep my old number. No mention I had apparently been sold a second contract... The nano sim arrived and I've been using the phone happily until yesterday when I viewed by bill online and noticed a second number. Did an online chat for 2 HOURS in the afternoon being put through to 4 different departments. Gave up and drove 30 mins to a Vodafone shop- no help at all and said I'd have to call 191 and send back the phone. Went home called 191 explained situation and was told someone would look into it at a different dept and would get back to me in 5-7 or maybe 7-9 days. I asked for a transcript of the call, silence. I repeated this 3 times and he said he can't do that but he will text or email what he has said. I didn't receive anything. So then last night I did the live chat again and that ended by me getting a reference number and her promising to get back to me in 3-4 days as she was going to listen to the transcript of the original call. Still unhappy as I just want to return phone and cancel this line I called again this morning. Spoke to 'Morsi' and he said he is sending a bag to pick up phone and then it will be cancelled with no charges. I am doubtful this is going to happen to be honest. I have been sent NO T&Cs or contract or ANYTHING to do with this phone so how on earth can they justify this, I wish I had read this forum before this happened to me as I see it has happened to other people. I am writing this so a Vodaphone rep responds and makes sure this phone is being picked up and the line cancelled. When my original contract with them expires in Jan I'm off like a shot, DISGUSTED.

It may well have been one of their shoddy third party sellers who rang you ...do you have the phone number that rang you on the 7th ?

yes I do and Vodafone actually have the details when the call was made and apparently who it was (according to one person on the chat) but nothing else about it. I'm doubtful that anything is being resolved as even the reference number I was given last night on the chat regarding my complaint didn't bring anything up when I quoted it this morning on the phone. I really need help as to where I stand here. Surely it's not my word against theirs? Like I mention I have been sent NO T&Cs out either via text, email or letter! The man in the shop said I get 28 days cooling off period, online they said 14 but I've been mis sold so surely it's irrelevant anyway

It's not irrelevant if the contract has been sold to you by a third party rather than Vodafone direct.

ok but if they have the call logged and persons name plus dept (apparently) then does that mean it is Vodafone or can it still be a third party? Excuse my ignorance. Certainly no one at Vodafone has mentioned a third party

It could be a third party or it may have been Vodafone, either way you need to determine which company it was who sold it to you...what was the number that rang you ?
