Think a lot depends on what your hopes and expectations are. You could do 200 a day, and hopefully get a couple of wins in a month. Thing is those wins could range from a pencil sharpener to a holiday. I did this route a while back and it did dominate proceedings on a daily basis. Nowadays I just concentrate on Creative/Effort comps. Won 13 things from c. 250 entries in 2015, so it is working. The difference to me is I'm now much more in control of the types of wins when they happen.
Good luck with the Comping OP.
  • Depends what you want out of it. I probably enter 20-40 a day these days. Granted, wins have been few and far between this year but have done well in the past.

Not gonna lie, I look at some people's lists of wins and think ok, you've won 20 things this month but 90% is utter tat - there is no way I could enter 200-300 a day without entering that sort of thing, which I would just want to bin. I might win less often this way, but every time is something I'm really excited about!
2018 wins: Aspinal of London jewellery box, Boudavida gym outfit, HP Pavilion laptop, The List party tickets, All Points East festival tickets, Kiehls moisturiser, By Terry cc serum, Nars Liquid Bronzer, Benefit highlighter, Nars illuminator, Fresh advanced lip trio set, Cetaphil sample set, signed copy of My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent

    Hello

I love to enter competitions daily find it relaxing but after doing about 20/30 I get bored :/ so my question is do we really need to enter 100-200 a day to be a winner? I'm pretty sure its pot luck or am I missing out ? I just don't see how people find time to do this many ? I tried and failed lol
They do say you have to be in it to win it. Its all about chance.

I would not let it rule my life to the degree of 2\300 a day. I think I entered 1 this Year, at a push 5 last Year and I won a book out of it.

If you bought 2\300 lucky dip lottery tickets a week, there is a good chance of winning out of a few of them, but nothing near as much as you paid to play.

You win some, you lose some but you would not obsess yourself to determined to win, as there's a large percentage of luck involved.

I mean fantastic comments with two smiley faces :):)
  • i enter anywhere from about 10 to about 40 a day, but i must admit i am quite selective with the competitions i enter.

i do win less frequently, but equally i'm not in to win prizes i have no interest in at all. i see a lot of people entering competitions to win anything and everything, and whilst that's fine for them, a lot of competition prizes i have absolutely no use for, so i see little point in trying to win them

so whilst i only win maybe 1-5 things a year, they tend to be pretty big. :j

I do between 300 and 400 a month and used to win 2 to 4 things every month. Last month nothing and this month so far nothing, I dont know if too many people are doing them or My luck has run out but I think if I have no wins this month I am going to give up for a while. Its fantastic to win but to keep checking facebook and my emails is getting me down!

I used to count my entries when i started it, do an hours worth, and see if I could beat that the next day - but I did that because it felt fun.

I no longer count and often simply search the forums for specific things like childrens toys, family breaks etc, this makes me feel excited that I have a chance to win.

The best thing to remember is - it only takes one entry to win!
    Best of luck
    Wishing you all good luck!

I don't count my entries, I enter for the prizes that either me or my family would enjoy. Sometimes I search on end date for todays date and enter the ones I fancy from those, and other times I search for specific things such as Center Parcs (would love to win a family break there) or angling - hubby and sons are keen fishermen! I can't be bothered with the facebook or twitter comps, so don't usually look at them, but do the direct entry ones or occasionally email entry ones. I've won a few prizes - usually for other members of the family, such as toys, books and some fishing gear - not often something for myself, although I did win a £100 Sainsbury's voucher a couple of years ago which we put towards a new flat screen tv as we had one of the huge chunky old ones! I used to spend spare time playing games on the computer but I feel like I'm being more productive entering comps instead! I enter when I have a few mins spare - often early morning before the family are out of bed. Often there are months without wins, but then you get one and it spurs you on to enter a few more competitions over the next few weeks! Good Luck!

Totally agree. You can go one of two ways. Bash 400 entries a day and hope for some luck with no control over what you might win (big or small). Or you can be selective. I've probably entered on average 1 or 2 day, concentrating on low entry Effort based Comps. It works well as I increase my chances of winning, and when I do, it's for things I want to win anyway. I feel putting an hours effort into winning one competition is far more productive than putting the same time in to enter 200 random entries in the same period. My advice is find what works for you. If you're happy, stick with it.
