Tesco's PRICE CHECK is contrived and manipulated

  • Teshco staff are far more jovial in my local store than Asda. However Shainshburys is at time on par with Teshco.

What it boils down to is taste. Food costs alot less in Asda but then it does taste awful in comparison to Teshco. Shainsburys food taste a little better than Teschco.

    M&S food is just gorgeous.

I cant really afford to shop in M&S but I dont want to be a drool licking skinflint and shop at Asda either. Hence the comprimise and shop at Teshco.

Granted branded products will taste the same where ever you shop but its about fruits, vegetables, baskery, fish and meat which make the difference.

I once had the misfortune of eating round a friends, he and his girlfriend had shopped at Asda, cooked dinner that evening for us. How awful. I advised my friend to ditch the woman due to her lack of taste in anything and I also informed him that it speaks volumes about her choice in him.

He ditched her and he has never made that awful mistake again.

Hope this helps enlighten some of you.

Buying your fruit/veg and meats at any supermarket will not get you quality, it will get you mass produced, low quality rubbish.

Why dont you try getting fruit and veg at your local market or farm shop and your meat at your local butchers. That way you have more chance of getting something that had not been driven thousands of miles before it reaches your plate.
  • You are absolutely right.

At times, one weekend a month, I usually drive to one of the farms and pick up my fresh meat and freshly laid eggs.

    Another farm provides certain vegetables.

But then again I am lucky that I live near a number of farms within a 20 mile radius.

The food is absolutely delicious cooked up! Yummy yummy Im hungry!

Or you could try picking blackberries for free. Today we picked 8lbs of them from our local hedgerows. Even in Aldi they were charging something like £1.30 for 200grms.

Imagine inviting someone around to your home for a meal, only to be told by them that the meal was awful, so dump the wife.....and NOT shoving the Asda branded tinned beans SIDEWAYS into his rectum, whilst enquiring that you hope that helps enlighten the rest of him.

  • Now now, this a moneysaving website, Maryboy, what you have done to you during the weekend with tinned produce is of no concern to moneysavers.

Your sordid behaviour should be posted on adult websites.
  • Price checkers are only one way to compare anyway and most people make their choices based on a) their own experience of price and b) their own expectations on quality. One very boring afternoon I started doing my internet shop with Tesco then - realising I was completely and utterly fed up of them - decided to fill my basket with the same from Sainsburys. (I use my clubcard vouchers for OU vouchers, otherwise I wouldn't touch Tesco these days).

Although it took awhile I realised that the price was only slightly different, the delivery was cheaper, the delivery slots were more convenient, the quality was better and I was able to get some products that are usually unavailable at Tesco.

A price checker couldn't have told me half of those things and I think it's worth keeping in mind that all these things make a difference. The Price Check is a gimmick and of course it isn't going to be impartial and objective - I think most people will keep that in mind in the same way that they know Prunella Scales isn't going to be parking her trolley next to theirs any time soon!

As for tinned produce - eugh - I'm staying away now!

    Cheers

I think pricecheckers are a waste of time! Why spend your precious hours trying to find the cheapest tin of beans or whatever? Pointless. I know this is a money saving website but surely the few pence you save isn't worth the time you spend looking! Do something worthwhile with your time.

PS I STILL hate Tesco though.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    Peace, love and labradors!
  • Well that explains the cat food going up then ,one minute it was £1.88 next it was £2.14. And the cat biscuits shot up a few months ago as well.
