How about this for £200 delivered? It's refurbished, but will be boxed like brand new and have a full years warranty. A big improvement over the Celeron/2GB RAM efforts.

    Yes you can, wager.

My mistake looks like their is a version now - someone is using the opensource code to make money. Looking at the reviews you have to pay to save any images you make, lots of negative reviews so looks like the OP will still be better using an alternative.

Are you aware that you can run an alternative Linux on a chromebook (ChromeOS is Linux based anyway) and thus GIMP ?

    No unpleasant third parties required.
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.

I bought this. 4gb ram, 1tb dual core. Good price and reviews. I don't think I need or can afford i3 processor - the refurbishment one you linked to disappeared.

So do all windows users upgrade to win 10? Free?.😨 no idea how it works since this will be 8.1
  • Hi,

yes you will get a free upgrade, there are a few threads about Win10 on this forum, have a look.

Well I suppose if the OP wanted to run an alternative system they could but I didn't get the impression that they wanted to.

Many people are happy to stick with Windows and I can't blame them as it general works and it is easier to get support with it.

I've run Ubuntu before and I had to do a bit of playing around with it to get it to do what I wanted (some things were simpler in Windows - although this may have changed as it has been sometime since I used a version of Linux). If something goes wrong with a PC running Windows then chances are you can find someone to help you, if running Linux you will find it harder to get assistance.

Anyway the OP has now chosen a laptop running Windows so they are free to use Gimp without changing to Linux.
