    If it was free how did they get your card details?
    A lot of offers ask for card details and, if you don't cancel a trial period in time, they charge for the next one, so gain custom from people who forget or are unable to cancel due to circumstances.

    There is no such thing as a freebie that needs your banking details. By keeping this in mind, your less likely to be ripped off by them.
