I've been offered a refund but I've since closed the credit card (it was cap one). Can anyone tell me what happens.
I'm in a quiet but busy office so difficult to make personal phone calls and my login details no longer work since I've closed the account.

I had this happen recently, I just requested the company send me a cheque instead or send the money to my bank account - they posted a cheque.

Although more likely you'll be refunded onto the card and you'll hvae to request that Cap One then refund you.

Norm is it goes to Cap1 and then you ask Cap1 to return it to you.

Due to anti money laundering and fraud risks most merchants wont refund to a different mechanism than how it was paid. If they didnt it opens them up to the fraud of where you get the cheque and then report to Cap1 that the original charge was unauthorised and get the transaction reversed

To my suprise I've now had the amount refunded to a different card which is easier for me.
As it happens I can remember my Cap one number and CCV I found the expiry date on my Amazon account.
BTW - The refund was £140 for 4 tickets to Buckingham Palace after waiting 2 hours to get in (they allow 300 people per 15 mins and have 3 X-ray machines), this is actually unhealthy levels of waiting considering there are no toilets when you get inside, so it's always worth complaining if you have a genuine complaint.
