Caple of CDA Appliances.

Morning,
I'm getting a fully fitted kitchen completed by a kitchen and bedroom company. We were meant to be getting CDA appliances throughout however Caple appliances have been delivered. We've contacted them and they have stated that this has been a mixup and the appliances we've had delivered are actually better than CDA, we can have them swapped out however we would have to wait a month for them to come in stock.
Aside from the fact this is clearly a ridiculous situation to be in, what is the better brand of equipment, CDA or Caple? Are Caple indeed more expensive than CDA on a like for like basis or is this nonsense?
Your comment and advice is greatly appreciated!

Thats like asking whether Ebola is better than HIV.
They are both rubbish. Cancel your order and buy a better product. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

My local kitchen place is trying to substitute the Neff appliances that they can't get.... with Caple. I cannot understand why.
Anyway, I've stuck our old built-in oven on a few bricks in the conservatory, so we'll sit it out for the duration with that and a camping stove.0 -
If you cant get Neff or Siemens right now, a Caple oven as a stop gap is fine but you have to question the integrity of a kitchen studio that puts them on the same platform.
As a step away from Neff/Siemens/Bosch I would probably consider AEG/Electrolux/Zanussi but I still dont rate them in Neff class. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Well, I have all CDA appliances, and they have all been working well since installation 5 years ago. Washing Machine, fridge/freezer, hob, oven, dishwasher, extractor over hob.0 -

But is five years a suitable time to judge them? They have a design life and may start failing shortly. If they were still working in a satisfactory manner after 20-25 years then that would be a suitable test.
My intuition is that my Miele may meet this, and I had a Jackson electric oven, and a Jackson gas hob that were both working fine after 25 years. Hence there was a time when UK appliances were good quality0 -

I am puzzled by this. IMHO a company would either be a specialist in kitchens or in bedrooms. These rooms are chalk and cheese. If they were multi specialists, with all round trades skills, then I would expect to see bathrooms added to the title.
To obtain Caple appliances suggests that the company has an account with Caple. Caple supply decent branded items, so why has the kitchen company not substituted with these instead? The logical answer is that they are not a reputable and worthy company.
Did the company advise OP of the terrible reputation that comes with CDA appliances? If so, then fine for the decision was OP's. If not, then I wonder if OP is being taken advantage of by a dubious operator.0 -

Quite a few firms 'round these parts that specialise in just kitchens & bathrooms. I'd always assumed it was because there is a decent overlap between kitchen units and bedroom furniture (particularly big wall fitments which are essentially made to order kitchen units with a couple of rails in them).0 -
It seems quite common that Kitchen companies will also do bathrooms around out area.
It seems that the difference between CDA and Caple is negligible. They are indeed, both fairly budget quality items. It would nice to have more thoughts or reviews, either way it seems I'm being landed with Caple anyway.0 -
You don't have to "be landed " with anything. It's your money and your kitchen so you get to choose which appliances you have , not the kitchen company. FWIW I wouldn't have either of those brands.0

That's roughly what I was thinking, especially as this is a company that has traditionally been at the higher end of the market. I'm only with them because they've introduced a somewhat cheaper range.
They do make their own cabinets, however, so that's where their specialism is.0
