Finding a "friendly mechanic" is of little help. We've already seen in another friend a friendly mechanics report is worthless in court and they will want an independant mutually agreed inspection0

Its not going to court.
I am doing a chargeback with Barclaycard for goods not as described.
They seem more than happy to refund me

Why should I not believe him?
He is a high street car dealer and told me there were no faults.
Its the same as buying something from a shop and being told the item is in working order only to find out it does not work.
In both cases as the consumer I am protected under consumer laws.
I am just exercising that right.0
