State pension payment

Sorry to hijack this thread. I was just checking my partner's SP payment date, and think he has the worst case scenario. He qualifies for his state pension on a Thurs and according to his NI no, his payment day is a Wed. So would this mean that he will not receive his first payment until the 2nd wed following his birthday ie his birthday is on the 9th (Thurs) he won't get paid on the 15th (Wed) so he will then get it on the 22nd (following Wed). Is that right?
In my partners case his birthday is on Saturday 5 September and according to DWP do not pay for the first three days. So his pension will start on the 8 September and will be paid weekly in arrears therefore the first payment into his bank account will be Monday 14 September and that day is because his Ni ends in 15.
I would say 22nd but there are a lot more experienced posters on here who could confirm this better than me.0 -

I presume, he will get paid on Wed 15th (June 2016?), but the payment will be less to account for fewer days. By Wed 22nd (and thereafter) he will get the full weekly amount.0 -
Being the new State Pension the first payment will include any days from SPa (the birthday) up to the following payday. This is a change to the current system where the odd days are only payable if the claimant is in receipt of working age benefits before SPa.0

Also hijacking this thread.
The above web page says that your payment date depends on your NI number, the last two digits.
My wife's NI no ends 02, but she gets paid on a Friday? Why?
My NI number ends in 06, so will I get paid on a Friday or a Monday?
Does being paid weekly or monthly make any difference?
Will being paid the new state pension be on the same basis?

The pay arrangement outlined in the link came about in the tax year 2010-11.
Before that, Monday or Thursday was the norm with widows paid on Tuesday.
Apparently this was connected to the fact that for years people collected their pensions at the PO and the Postmasters need to ensure that they held the right amount of cash/weren't overwhelmed by queues etc.
Apparently though, under some circumstances, payment could be on other days - did your wife have any special circumstances?
Pension payments are now in arrears whether paid weekly or four weekly.
I can't see any reason why the NI no/payment day should be changed in the new system?0 -

Monday.
Last two digits of NI number ('Payday' state pension begins): 00-19 (Monday); 20-39 (Tuesday); 40-59 (Wednesday); 60-79 (Thursday); 80-99(Friday).0 -
