Hi all we bought 2 tins of Cuprinol garden shades - bargain at homebase at the moment £22.99 each or 2 for £25 :j I thought the perfect colour for our fence would be summer damson. However I used a testing pot on the fence and it's a lovely colour but way to purple for all our garden fencing. We want a colour that will enhance plants, make the garden look nice and bigger if possible. Has anyone experience of these colours in their garden. I wondered about Urban Slate...what would you recommend?

It's not for the faint-of-heart, but ebony really makes the colours of plants pop-out from the background.
My neighbour did his shed in Beaumont Blue and IMHO it looks ridiculous in the garden.0 -
I've got a dark grey, used Cuprinol ducks back in silver copse and similar to the black IHS mentions, the green of plants really stands out against it. Also wish Cuprinol you do need a couple of coats before you see the proper colour. So you could try going over your test patch a couple of times and see what it looks like.0

stick to colours that aren't too bright, I painted a few planters in b&q own brand "fur" colour which is a dark green. It works quite well and allows the plants to show off their colour.0

We built a new rabbit hutch last week and painted it with Cuprinol shades and went with a combo of costal mist and country cream, the cream breaks up the block of blue and would compliment most of the colours in the shades range.0

Did our greenhouse in SEAGRASS. A good copy of a farrow and ball grey/green.0

We have the colours 'forest green' on the fence and 'willow' on the trellis attached to the fence and I am very happy with the effect. Willow is a really lovely colour. The plants (lavenders/hollyhocks/purple clematis/honeysuckle) look really good in front of it, if country garden is to your taste!0

Thanks for all your replies it's a difficult choice to make but so far summer damson and urban slate don't look right with our garden style. We have tried Seagrass and willow and they're lovely but don't want s light colour on the patio fence. Beaumont blue is. Nice but quite a 'distinctive' colour Cuprinol ducks back sounds good so considering silver copse or dark brown...0

Why don't you post is a pic of the garden and fence? I have to say they're really hard to photograph lol0

Another vote for Seagrass here I painted my fence with two coats and love it but I see from here lots of people prefer a dark colour fence.0

We have one shed in Cuprinol Beach Blue (rather bright blue, but we went with a beach hut theme). Our other shed is Cuprinol Muted Clay (a purplish grey) with Sunmer Damson trellis attached to it.
Also have a bird house done in Cuprinol Sweet Sundae (bright pink) and Cuprinol Sunny Lime.
(We like the bright colours!!)0
