Hi there, does anyone know what this tree is?
For reference to size, the leaves you see are the size of a dinner plate. It's quite a young tree, probs 4-5 years old and this is the first year it has flowered. It's very beautiful.

Sorry it's a bit blurry but it was quite windy.

Paulownia tomentosa, or Foxglove tree, from what I can see of it.

Thanks, yes, it does bear similarities, although I can't find any pictures of any with this colour and it's supposed to flower in spring, this has only just flowered. And it doesn't do the whole foxglove pinnacle thing, the flowers are more clustered, although that could just be because it is it's first year of flowering. I'll have a look at other Pawlonias.
It's in a very fitting position, it has appeared at the cemetery near my Nan's grave where we interned my Aunty's ashes earlier this year.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I've had a second thought and I came up with this, which is flowering now in my local Morrisons' car park:

I think you are too young to remember the BBC spoof.
