Santander online customer ID query

My mother has now got online banking with Santander and initially logged in with the temporary ID she received. I told her this would change to the 16-digit number on her debit card (like mine is) but apparently this is not the case. She recalls having to choose some login passwords or sequences but can't quite remember. Does anyone know if these would be numbers-only, letters only, or a (compulsory?) mixture. If so, are there any limitations e.g max of 4 consecutive numbers or 4 consecutive letters.

Looks like the customer ID is digits-only, so is this one that Santander revises at first log-in or does it invite you to make up your own new one?0

My wife and I both have Santander issued 8 digit customer numbers followed by a 5 digit self-chosen PIN.
Both former A&L customers.0 -

I know Santander sent her a temporary password through the post, so would the customer ID they sent be the permanent one?0 -
My customer ID is a word I changed on first log on followed by a passcode which is another word with numbers, then my registration number which is 5 numbers..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. When I log in to online banking it prompts for "Enter your Personal/Customer ID" (hover help text is "Please enter your ID. Your ID may have been previously known as your Personal ID, Customer ID or Customer number") - for me this is a 10-digit number supplied by them.
On successful entry of this, I'm then prompted for Passcode ("Your passcode is an 8-16 character word or name. If this is the first time you have logged in, please enter the 8 digit passcode we have sent you. You will then be asked to change the passcode to something that you can easily remember (this can include numbers and letters).") and then Registration Number ("Your registration number is a 5 digit number. If this is the first time you have logged in, please enter the 5 digit registration number we have sent you. You will then be asked to change the registration number to a 5 digit number you can easily remember (this can be numerical only).")
Hope this helps!0
