No More Buying Unnecessary Toiletries Until...August 2015

Back from hols, amazing time though full of adventures parents of teens will be familiar with...
Desperate phone call from DD who fell ill at a festival - cue driving around tiny roads in remote Cornwall at 2am trying to find an A&E.
Brother and teen nephew hired a sea kayak, took it out half a mile and it promptly started to sink - thankfully they are both sensible, fit and and had life jackets.
I took lots of odds and ends from the bathroom that needed using up - amongst the 4 of us we went through almost an entire bottle of Palmolive long hair shampoo, and Tesco coconut conditioner - ok both of them, but nothing special. The Schartzkopf color protect leave-in conditioner proved to be AH-mazing! Despite being in the sea and sun all day everyday, DD's and I came back with hair soft and shiny - it also smells fantastic. Definitely buying that again!
I have not had time to sort out a PP for this month so just using whats around.
GA 4 things from stash. DD is off to London to do a TESL course before her GAP year. She is staying with a relative and has a very tight budget so if she can avoid buying toiletries in London will keep some pennies in her pocket.
Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner for dry hair - ginger, cinnamon and banana? I obviously didn't look at the label too closely when I bought them, sounds more like a cake!
Superdrug crystal white mark protection antiperspirant. I bought this on some promotion ages ago DD says it works perfectly fine.
OS raspberry and cocoa 'seasonal edition' shower gel. DD says this came out around Christmas, so it's been in my cupboard since then - oh dear!
Lastly I must confess some in's. Out and about shopping for DD essentials like socks, I picked these up..
Naked coconut &passionflower renewing conditioner - love Naked, and it seems to be disappearing from the high street so had to, that's my excuse anyways.
A Bold Black Barry M waterproof mascara and a Calvin Klein 'Rose' lip gloss, found in a pound shop and too goo to miss. Barry M wand is one of those fine rubber ones, very natural look I like. Lip gloss is perfect color and minty , though I wish it had an applicator.
Chocolate fudge body butter, I opened it to smell it and touched the surface of it by accident, so felt compelled to buy it for hygiene reasons. That will teach me to be nosy! Looks vile, color of putty, quite literally, but is actually ok.
Primarks' dupe of L'Occitanne Manuka honey hand cream. Packaging is almost identical and I am pretty impressed with this, much richer than my usual nivea etc.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -
Erk.
A big box arrived this afternoon, chock full of goodies from Beauty Recommended.
I had expected one or two items.
I've got a razor, shaving gel, lipstick, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser (top-notch, identical to one I got from Az in March), a rechargeable toothbrush, toothpaste, facial epilator/facial brush.
Crumbs.
Already posted two reviews, as all have to be up by next Friday, good job I'm used to this with Az.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
TA for me
While sorting boxes I found a part used deodorant stick that doesn't look right. Isn't badly discoloured or smelling nasty like the ones I chucked ealier this year, but I'm still not risking it.....Cheryl0 -

Chucked away eight nail polishes today that had gone dry/gloopy. Definitely don't need to replace as I have tons. Feel better for having a sort through them!
Have an in today. 3 x sensodyne toothpastes. On offer in tesco. This is a need as I've had bad tooth pain if I eat anything with sugar in this last month. I suspect I've been brushing my teeth too hard or the floss I've started using has irritated them. In an effort to avoid paying dentist fees for now I'm trying sensodyne as some people at work said they have had success with it. If no results though I'll have to cough up for the dentist.
Made a deal with myself today too. I've had some big bills this month and my bank account isn't as happy as normal so no more eBay for me for now!! I've made a deal that if. I keep off eBay until December for anything toiletry or clothes related in December I will go to the body shop and buy myself some Virgin mojito bits for Christmas. If that's not an incentive to save my pennies I don't know what is . Until then I must make a real effort to use what I already have!! Must remind myself it's not a bargain if it's sat in a box!!
That goes for candles too. No more candles. 5 large jar candles is enough for now!! Make a real effort to burn the ones I have and then I will get a nice Christmassy one at Christmas. I've got my eye on the cherries on snow one. If I can save the pennies until then I will buy that as my Christmas candle. Until then, no more toiletries (apart from deodorant etc if I run out) and no more candles lol!!
Eta how did you guys find coupons for soft and gentle and what's the COS thing?
UU the Vaseline aloe lip balm tin just now. Probably the first lip balm I've ever used up fully. Yay :-) WBA and already have another somewhere and have them in a few other flavours too. I've replaced this one with a blueberry tin for now though as I fancy a change. The Vaseline ton did a good job and lasted me ages.No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2015/2016/2017/2018

A couple more UU:-
- Decleor - Clay and Herbal Cleansing Mask (sample tube suitable for one use). This had been sat around unused for many years, still seemed to be ok to use as hadn't been opened. It was ok, but I am not sure it will have me rushing out to buy. To be honest I haven't found any masks I'd class as Holy Grail bar the REN Glycolic acid exfoliating one.
Anyone found any deep moisturising ones they love?
- Bon: Pure Tissue Oil: This was a sample I got in a beauty box and I've been using it on some scars I have on my knee. I wish I'd taken a photo before the first use as I think it's improved them a little but I am not sure. Might check out how much it costs and if I buy make sure I take a photo next time.
Been sorting out my travel toiletries for up coming trips today. Things that are very close to being UU I am going to use up at home to save having to put three tubes of face cream in my bag to be sure of having enough for the week etc. Be good to get all the part used things UU so they don't deteriorate before use.0 -

Hi Gemzie,
Coupons for the soft and gentle are online at https://www.mymail.co.uk/home you can get one coupon for 50p per user/email address. Set up as many as you like 😉
The COS thing is Check Out Smart, it's an app for smart phones that gives you Cashback on certain purchases. At the minute soft and gentle are at 50p cash back. Total price in superdrug is 1.03 so between the coupon and COS you end up paying .03p...might as well stock up while we can xJuly 2015 - £997 in Debt.
