No More Buying Unnecessary Toiletries Until...August 2015

It's a good job the title of this thread is No BUYING ...
I got offered a freebie to review of Garnier Ultimate Blends The Marvellous Transformer Shampoo. Well, what would you have done?
The review is for a six bottle pack, but apparently I'm being sent one bottle.
However, when the Aussie shower gel was on offer, six bottles arrived, sod's law dictated that I got offered the one scent that I'm not that fussed about!
It is going down slowly, being alternated with Nivea Waterlily and a bargain priced Wilko pink one at the moment.
I liked the hand cream that arrived, anyway..Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
UU
St Ives Face Scrub - found lurking at the back of a cupboard. Used it up on elbows and knees. Now onto a Soap and Glory scrub.0 -
Quick popping in to report 2 UUs.
Clarins Cleansing Milk 200ml and Clarins Toning Lotion 200ml WNBA These were presents that was quite old when I started using them! Over 12 months ago! A LHJ if ever there was one. This didn't irritate my skin but other than that it was nothing special.0 -
2 more UUs from my PP list:-
Philosophy Pure Grace shower gel. WDBA. Love this fragrance and have two bottles of the perfume left.
Tresemme shampoo. Have another huge bottle in my stash.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Wasn't sure about the texture of the latter though - seemed to you had to press quite hard - wondered if it would drag on my eye lid. Anyone tried them?
Boots Clinique have a bonus time on at the moment but one of the items has to be skin care or foundation - neither of which I need. The colour cosmetics in the bonus GWP were foul too - a fuchsia chubby stick which would awful on my skin tone, an eye shadow which I think also had a pinky / purple in, and the usual black mascara (I use brown).
Anyway, despite this I was umming and ah-ing about what I could buy to get the GWP - old habits die hard. In the end I stopped myself and walked out as the only logical thing to do was just buy the mascara and it seemed I wasn't going to be sensible enough to do that today!
Well done on walking away, if you don't like the makeup items in the GWP and don't need/want the other items it would be a total waste of your hard earned cash - stay strong.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

And - you are doing really well with your freebie trial products at the moment.
I have a uu
Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Eye Cream 5ml - have one more in the stash, I got 3 of these as freebies which I imagine will count as one full one in ml's. It is nice but is £32 so WNBA. I have replaced this with the last one I have.
I repainted my nails last night in AVON Viva Pink on my toes and the same on my fingers but topped with Nails Inc Alexa Hearts - little red hearts suspended in fine silver glitter.
Oh and not one single in yet for August:j.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

thanks. When I got home I checked some reviews on line, and I don't think I'd like the mascara much - seems to be one of those ones that clumps eyelashes together to make them look fatter. My main reason for wearing mascara is that the ends of my eyelashes are very fair and you can only see how long they are with some colour added.
And though I've enjoyed using coloured mascara in the past.... perhaps in my 40s I am a bit old for that.
In any case, I usually end up chucking mascara away before it's empty for fear of getting an infection as I don't wear make up that often. So I should really just stick to my brown and minimize wastage.0 -
Hello again ladies!
Well, I seem to be on a bit of a UU roll at the minute, even if it is for my staple goods.
UU: TBS Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream
WIBA? It's my current 'go to'. There's probably something better out there for me, but it does the job OK and I am so busy in pretty much every other aspect of my life at the moment that I don't have the time to go hunting for something better or making it myself.
The time will come! Please call me 'Pickle'

UU of 25ml Nature Knows Best Vitamin E oil. WBA this was very light and non greasy, had this one a while and bought in another part of the country, so will have to see what is available.
Packing for holiday in Somerset, so have dug out a load of small size REN products that I have had for ages, tried the eye gel, cleansing milk and a smooth and renew mask with no reaction from sensitive areas of face, fingers crossed for the rest of the products.
Toe nails painted at last (wouldn't wear sandals yesterday as the toes were nude:eek:) new colour is OPI Lost my bikini in Molokini. Planning on watching OPI show this afternoon while packing clothes, won't be able to buy though as there will be no-one here for delivery:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
