evilsquid - well done on finishing a MAC eyeshadow. I don't like the Urban Decay eyeliners very much, they are easy to apply, I apply them to my lower lash line and they smudge and pretty much disappear and it doesn't matter what concealer I am using.

It disappears off my lower lash line too, drives me mad. The only one I've found that doesn't is the Laura mercier caviar stick eye colour. I discovered it completely by accident when I was going out one night and thought it'd be a change to have something with a bit of shimmer in rather than jet black and I got twice as long out of that than all the others!

It wouldn't even have occurred to me there were multiple shades of black.* I wish it suited me - anytime I get an eyeliner included in a gift with purchase or in a beauty box it's always black. However, only warm colours work on my skintone so I can't use them.

    * However, I heard there are lots of shades of grey... was it something like 50? ;)

The blackest one I've found is the urban decay pencils in perversion. When you swatch blacks next to each other they are all different depending on how much pigments in them and which pigment they've used. Can you tell black eyeliner is my thing? :rotfl:

Oh and unless a pencil was made in Germany, don't buy it. The German made ones are the best ones and the ones made anywhere else in the world just don't match up. I can't remember where I read it but all the ones I've had that have been amazing have all been German!

    Uus:

Sephora Age Defy Moisturising lotion spf 15 - Very thick cream, which slightly clogged my pores and left white marks on my face. Unlikely, to buy again as it was purchased in Poland.

Gadi 21 cuticle oil - WNBA, was bought as part of an overpriced nail buffer set and main ingredient was mineral oil.

    Vaseline aloe fresh antiperspirant

    In:

Cover Gray crayon stick to cover the stubborn greys at the crown of my head.

I found this with a black Urban Decay liner too. I was really excited when I bought one a few years back as had heard they were really good but found it smudged all under my eyes. The Rimmel Scandaleyes kohl in black does that on me too, despite it claiming to be waterproof! Don't have a problem so much with other colour eyeliners, just black! Have been wearing Mac Teddy recently which is a brown - this doesn't seem to smudge too badly under my eyes. Still doesn't last long on the waterline though

The beauty boxes are a nice idea but invariably you don't always like or use everything you get, so you need to have someone to pass the items that you aren't going to enjoy onto. I really shouldn't have gone there with the size of stash that I had. I think I'd got bored of looking at some of it - there's some brands in there I really wouldn't buy now - but if I am not going to TA then I need to just use.

39 body butters and you've UU in a year and a bit - that's impressive - your skin must be super soft! I don't always get round to putting any lotion on in the morning - always do my face, but if I am tight for time the body gets skipped.

I have one more UU - Korres Jamine shower gel. I don't think they even make this scent anymore. It was nice enough but I WNBA even if I could.

I have a dreadful habit of wanting to get shower gel / body lotion that will complement my perfume, and I wear lots of different perfumes so hence lots of different coordinating toiletries. This one had been bought to go with a Jo Malone perfume that I UU ages ago and has also been discontinued.

I need to curb this, though I can't quite picture me ever having just one unscented body lotion and shower gel on the go - I like nice smelling things too much. Cut back anyway - have the unscented to use when wearing some of my more unusual perfumes.

I agree re the beauty boxes. I subscribed to the Birch Box for Emma when there was a Groupon deal on and guess who ended up with the cast offs? It was thrilling receiving the bix each month though. Would love to be able to subscribe to Influenster (US).

    Out
Laura Mercier primer - still can't decide if i like this or even if it actually does anything! on to another tube of this now.
Liz Earle travel size C&P - HG
Elemis travel size toner - WMBA if it was part of a set. this is like the LE one, nice but when it runs out I'm not rushing to buy another as the Avene water spray at £6 a can does the same job!
Urban decay eyeliner in baked- these really are good quality but this colour was never going to be used as eyeliner! i bought a set yonks ago with 15 eyeliners in in the sale in a rainbow of colours on the premise of "its £1.50 a pencil!". i gave away the ones i clearly won't touch like blue and i'm re purposing the browns, bronzes, greys etc as eyeshadow sticks. they are all ridiculously long wearing and are lasting me a whole day at work without budging one bit so i am very impressed with them!
Mac eyeshadow - these don't happen that often so :j:T this was a lovely bronze colour that layered very well with the urban decay pencil.

    Ins
i made the error of calculating how much of a saving the mac eye set was. it worked out at essentially a 3 for 2 on 3 HG items so ins of mascara, gel eyeliner and pencil liner.

Also Ins of the Espa summer beauty book. this has deluxe sizes of the pink hair and scalp mud, moisturiser and the serum which (and i never thought i'd say this!) i think is a much nicer facial oil than the LE superskin and it smells divine!

also picked up an urban decay eyeshadow that i was eyeing up in sephora with my debenhams points from the credit card so it cost me £3.

Am just putting together a shopping list for Sephora/ULTA for my hols next month and am torn between a Kat von d eyeshadow trio and the Lorac pro matte palette or even the Sephora own brand. Do want a couple of UD lipsticks.

Do you have a recommendation for a good nude eyeliner to be used in the waterline?

NPI this afternoon - was very tempted by the new chubby mascaras in Clinique - they had a lovely teal coloured one and a matching eyeliner or "skinny stick". Wasn't sure about the texture of the latter though - seemed to you had to press quite hard - wondered if it would drag on my eye lid. Anyone tried them?

Boots Clinique have a bonus time on at the moment but one of the items has to be skin care or foundation - neither of which I need. The colour cosmetics in the bonus GWP were foul too - a fuchsia chubby stick which would awful on my skin tone, an eye shadow which I think also had a pinky / purple in, and the usual black mascara (I use brown).

Anyway, despite this I was umming and ah-ing about what I could buy to get the GWP - old habits die hard. In the end I stopped myself and walked out as the only logical thing to do was just buy the mascara and it seemed I wasn't going to be sensible enough to do that today!
