MrsB has my 'cast off' Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1718 (MS2212)
I think/hope that I have fixed it's recurring BSOD by uninstalling the display drivers and using the generic Windows one.
I took the bottom off to check for dust etc and reseated the RAM, but neither of these things helped till I uninstalled the display drivers.
Anyway, CCleaner reports 1GB RAM, but there were definitely 2x1GB when I looked
I also have 2 more spare 1GB modules in the drawer at home.
Is it worth messing with the RAM to get CCleaner to recognise 2GB ... or is it fibbing???
EDIT = running Win7 (OEM)

Same as CCleaner = 1GB0

Sounds like a dead module or socket0

One at a time in each slot and you may be able to check in bios rather than waiting for full boot, if i can check around usging ths small screen will try. You may find that you may not have reset it fully0

So ....
In the bottom drawer was some 1GB modules - same (?) as was in there except in there was 1GB 2Rx8 and my spares were x16
I replaced them both - still reported 1GB
I put just one in one slot and then t'other - it reported 1GB but both slots worked, except it said that MSEssentials was out of date!
Then I put the two x16 ones in and it reported 2GB and worked fine, BUT it did ask to do a disk check which I cancelled
Then when I thought it was OK, I let it do the disk check which then gave me 2 different BSOD's - one mentioning fltmgr.sys and the other ntoskrnl.exe
It then offered something that I've seen before, but can't remember the name - some sort of repair thingy and then a system restore
It seems to be working ok now but has forgotten the log in details to our wi-fi
Entered that and connected OK
Rebooting now to check ....0 -
Still BSOD'ing
Suspect the RAM needs seating properly now.
Any thoughts??0 -
download a program called bluescreenview. run it, and post up a screen display of the BSOD info.
