PCN issued for free parking

Options
Hi all, me again..

So I just want to know if there is any legal get-out at all (private or council) if you are issued a notice for parking in a free car park (under 2 hours). If not, is there anything I could include in a grovelling letter? I have one shot at an appeal so want to take it whatever the case.

The notice is actually for non-display of ticket (in a council car park) but basically I'm asking in this forum because I'm getting no response in Pepipoo and I need to reply ASAP.

Any help at all would be appreciated. I know this is a private cp forum so apologies if wrongly posted.

Thanks

BD

Have you included all the info Pepipoo folks need to see in your post over there? (Scans of all paperwork - both sides - with personal info redacted).

I'm not able to view the images you've put in your post ... probably an access issue my side.

Yes all paperwork included, although I could have reduced the sizes a bit - maybe that's causing the issue?

My post is getting viewed but no replies :(

Just resized and optimised images - hopefully will help

    Thanks again

You posted on PPP at 11pm last night and shouting again because no response at 8am this morning. How many are you expecting to work the night shift over there?

Unrealistic response expectations and demands normally result in one thing, and I think you might just be experiencing that.

  • About 5pm yesterday, not shouting or demanding, was worried my post wasn't visible for some reason that's all - don't want any trouble.

    Sorry everyone

  • I was sat in a lay-by on the way home from work at about 5pm uploading my pics and writing the post. I'm a slow typer but not 6 hours slow lol.
  • Quite simply it clearly states at the top left of the sign "Up to 2 hours OBTAIN FREE TICKET" this means you press the button and it issues you with a ticket showing the time you parked. This then needs to be displayed allowing you to park free for up to 2 hours. So in essence you have contravened the terms of parking by not displaying a valid ticket.

My feeling is that you will have to pay up.

Indeed, you should pay it, the sign is clear enough.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Yeh I think I'll just pay up - so annoyed at myself. I made sure I read the sign and everything - it just didn't register :(

So you wouldn't even bother submitting an appeal? Seems a waste?

    Thanks

You've got until 12/08 to pay at the reduced rate, why the rush? I'm sure you'll get some clear advice from the council parking tickets experts on PPP. Just be patient, there's no need for the haste you seem to want to inject into this.
