Hi All
Received an email from Plusnet about price hike in September, in the email it states i can leave my contract fee free if i inform them within a time limit. Now as i paid the 12 month line rental up front and have been with them for about 6 months, will i be refunded the remainder of the line rental and will they allow me to cancel as i have paid?
Thanks
Ann

I had the same thing last year. Unfortunately they will not refund your 6 months line rental. I only had 1 month left so it wasn't too bad.0

Yes you are entitled to a refund on your LRS as the call charges and call plans are increasing.
I was successful in getting my LRS refunded from BT earlier this year.0 -
LT: How did you manage this?
And thanks to both for the replies.0 -
Generally PN have been steadfast in their refusal to refund ALR.0

Why do you need to cancel immediately. Your line rental won't go up until the end of your ALR is up so just move then which I take it will also be the end of your 12 contract?0 -
not happy with plusnet in regard to internet so was looking to switch to another firm and this price hike seemed a way out.0

It did take a little arm-twisting.
Remain adamant, and insist on speaking with a team leader or manager.
As others have mentioned, they will put up some resistance, either because the agents genuinely don't know themselves or they are deliberately trying to put you off so you give up.
Explain that although your line rental has been paid up, the tariff for the line has increased. They won't be able to deny that.
If they still don't play ball, raise a formal complaint.0 -
thank u, wil update on result0
