Experian Credit Report

I used information given on MSE to get a credit report from Experian, this is to see if I have any claim to misold PPI.
I thought ALL my financial transactions would be on the report but that's not the case, there is no mention of any mortgages I have had, how can I get all information of my financial past including mortgages and insurance?

Thanks

While Experian Credit Reports do not include information about payment protection insurance (PPI) policies, they will show you any credit agreements you have had in the last six years.

So if you had PPI to cover past credit agreements and it is this that you are seeking to reclaim, as you've mentioned your credit report isn't showing a number of your accounts, if you haven't done so already you may want to add your previous address history.

If you would like us to take a look through your credit report with you to establish if there is a reason why the accounts are not showing if you've already added your full address history, please get in contact with us as we would be able to help.

There are 3 credit reference agencies and not all companies report to all 3 so in order to get the true picture, you would need to obtain copies of your files from all 3.

Once you have your reports, have you tried checking the settled/closed sections of the report? These hold all closed accounts for the past 6 years. If you are looking for older accounts then you would either need to look through your own personal paperwork, or contact the bank/institution in question and perhaps do a SAR to see what info they hold on you.

Thanks James I appreciate you taking timeout to respond to my post.
My wife and I have lived at this address for over 22 years so I don't think our address history will help.

I thought that all my credit history would be held by the 3 credit agencies, obviously this is not the case but this is more my misunderstanding of the credit agencies, rather than the fault of Experian.

Once again thank you for your help in this matter.
