Cancellation Policies

Hello,

I'm quite new here so sorry if I make any mistake. There is a cashback offer in quidco for Tesco credit card. I was wondering if I signed up and cancel later on without using the card, is there a cancellation fee? I looked at their website but can't find any info on it. Was thinking the cashback offer for signing up was pretty good.

What credit cards have no annual fee and can be cancelled if no balance without any fees?

Many Thanks for any advice.

:)

No fee. Is it that hard to use the card?

Most cards are free, and I don't know a single one charging for cancellation. Why would they charge for this?

I think you'll need to check the T&Cs for the Quidco cashback, I'd be surprised if Tesco will authorise payment if you've never used the card.

Oh Ok. Cheers. I'm afraid of using credit cards. :) Don't want to get into debt. I'm just being careful :) I've not had a U.K. credit card before and my husband don't have one either. Citi Bank issued abroad which I have, charges an annual fee, so wasn't sure if it is the same here.

I've got the Tesco Credit Card and the only time you'd incur charges is for exceeding your credit limit, missing payments due (etc).

There's certainly no Annual Fee attached.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Don't forget that cashback is not guaranteed so unless you are looking to specifically use the Tesco for the 0% purchases or 0% balance transfer offers, there isn't much point applying for one.

I took out the Tesco card when Quidco were offering £25 per application, got the card and it tracked ok, however Quidco for whatever reason rejected/declined the cashback on 3 separate occasions due to their error and it took a mighty fight to get them to reinstate the claim backing it up with evidence etc, a lot of time and hassle for £25 which was eventually paid out 3 months later. I'm not the only one this has happened to regarding Tesco/Quidco so beware.

Oh dear, that's a lot of messing about. It's £30 now, so I would need to be purchasing something before they give me my cashback? Many Thanks for your advice.

It's not so much about purchasing something as there isn't anything in the T&C's about having to keep the card open for a certain amount of time or spending x-amount to qualify for the cashback, the problem you may find is that the transaction may not track at all with Quidco. Or they could reject it. Or if your application gets referred by Tesco and isn't an instant acceptance, again your cashback would be declined.

What I am basically saying is don't put too much reliance on the £30 being paid out by Quidco as there are too many variables that make it so cashback isn't guaranteed. You need to start looking at it as if the cashback was a bonus on top of receiving the already decent Tesco card, not as the incentive for taking it out in the first place.

Only take up the offer if you actually need or will use the Tesco card for its offers (0% purchases/balance transfers).
