Barclaycard Initial with Cashback

Hi all,

A few weeks ago I read this newsletter from Martin Lewis: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips/01-07-2015/#credit

- New. Earn £40: Spend & fully repay monthly and Barclaycard Initial* will credit your account with £10 every 3mths. In fact, to get the £10 you just need to either spend or be repaying an old balance each month, making at least the min repayment - however, that will mean you pay interest, so we prefer you stick to repaying in full.

I eagerly clicked the link and ordered my new credit card from there. When it arrived, however, there was no mention of the cashback whatsoever. When I queried via secure message, I was told to "please note that the terms under which you signed up are not eligible for the cashback you desire."

Can anybody shed some light on what has happened? It seems like Barclaycard and MSE have removed all mention of the cashback card other than in the archived newsletter I have linked to. Yet I can confirm with great conviction that I applied for the card with the correct link...
