Some families ruining our lives.

Myself and several other residents have issues with 4-5 women and their children. These women and their families live in rented ha properties, half of them living down my road and the others living in the next street. Their back garden gates go onto our road.
My road has a central open area about 70 paces x 59 paces, which is mainly grass. In the middle, there is an area with playground equipment which has fences around it.
I know of other people that live in streets with a similar layout and they have no issues.
I sent a generalised anonymous comment on a Spotted page on Facebook 6 weeks ago, saying no ball games signs are there for a reason. Two of these women thought I was targeting at their kids. One of them yelled at me at work, I work in a shop. There are loads of places with no ball games signs in the town. Then she and one of the other women spoke to my manager and wanted me sacked!! Work have said to them I haven't broken any rules.
These 4-5 women and their kids spend most of the day in the open area. Then one of my customers who lives down the same road has been harassed by them for being accused of taking photos of their kids on her phone. She has never taken a photo on her phone. She has to get her husband to drive her to the shops, 15 min walk away. She is scared of walking down the road. I am the same, but playing music on my mp3 player helps.
A few weeks ago, another resident had her niece and toddler daughter around. Playground was empty so took the toddler to the park. A few mins later,one of the women that lives in one of the houses on the next street stormed towards the three of them and asked to get off MY playground. The open area is public and these 4-5 women and their kids thinks it belongs to them. It doesn't as they didn't pay for it and for the mainstream of it. She was in one of her friend's home at the time.
Plus four months ago, the yelling woman yelled me at work again and said stop staring at her kids. I was making a cup of tea and my kettle and kitchen face the open area.

These women don't work, just benefit claiming. Police and their HA (my property is with them too but I fully own mine as was SO) are doing very little.
I think the area should be done up in a way that prevents anyone from socialising there. There is a park five min walk from the women that live in the other street. I cannot think of what should be there. As we all had some experience of losing something because of a few ruined it for others. This should be the case for this.
I am now having to draw my curtains and blinds in the rooms overlooking the open area of my property so they cannot see me. I enjoyed Friday as it was my day off and it was pouring rain all day. I just want more of my days off in the summer holidays to be like that.
What else can I do? Cannot afford to move. Do you think removing the playground and open area into something less suitable help? Why do these women think they own the area and insult me and others with false accusations? What will happen to those that accused the woman that t took photos??

Its unlikely the playground would be moved/closed down as it was probably a requirement when the development was built. Its obviously used.

Report the anti-social behaviour to the council and police.
If they continue to harass you and your neighbours report these incidences, all of them, at your local police station.
Log everything in a diary.I have a simple philosophy:

I'm sorry but they're not going to rip out the park just because you want them to.
When I was a kid I hated the "No Ball Games Sign" enforcers, but I would never dream of intimidating or insulting them.
There's nothing particularly serious about anything you have posted. I can't imagine the police would want to waste tax-payers' money on this.

OP you have my sympathy but I'm afraid the reality is that this is typical of Britain today. You have to try to learn to live with it.0 -

I don't disagree with you. I know full well that intimidating behaviour can ruin someone's life. Unfortunately the options to stop it are limited.
It sounds like the OP lives in an area with there are a number of poorly educated people, probably of limited intelligence, who struggle to express themselves in a way we deem acceptable. Many of these people have been subjected to some kind of abuse during their upbringing. They are very frustrated, unfulfilled people.
Hopefully, with time, OP will see these people as a product of their upbringing with their own, albeit different, challenges and limitations, rather than simply "evil". It will then become easier to understand, tolerate and even help them.
Perhaps OP could even let the kids play football every now and then?

Unfortunately unless people stand up to them then it's likely that these families will continue to treat the area like they own it. Although it's not nice to be yelled at, if you're not doing anything wrong then just ignore them and get on with your life (including opening your curtains whenever you want).0
