trying to set up setanta sports with no joy

recieved our card yesterday and have been trying endlessly to set it up. Have done a channel rescan of our freeview bow about 3 times... spend ages on the phone to customer services (08712 number as well!) only to be told that they'll resend the signal and to rescan for channels... it's a viscious cycle that doesn't seem to be going anywhere!!!

Do you get Channel 5 and 5 US/5 Life??
I think these are on the same multiplex. Setanta stores on Freeview 34 and should come up with a message about subscribing.
In order to activate your card you need to keep the freeview box switched on and tuned to 34 or 5.
Mine was authorised in about 30 mins.
What box do you have??
I think the really old ex-on/ITV digital ones are no longer supported but the advisor should have checked your box is compatible before signing you up.

looks like it will just be a signal resend then from Setanta. Everything else checks out fine.
Hope they sort it soon for you.
Not sure if they have alternate numbers, try www.saynoto0870.com to see if they have geographical number for you to call.

There is no doubt that Setanta are having serious problems with delivery of their "service". I finally got a picture for around 10 mins today and it froze and cut off just before the 5.15 game kicked off. My brother in law ( in a different part of Scotland ) had the same experience and it froze at exactly the same moment, on the goalie. I have spent a fortune in calls today with as a previous poster has stated, not even being queued .0
