If you get your facts right before posting incorrect advice and then arguing that you are correct when everyone else informs you that you are wrong, then maybe you would not leave yourself open to criticism, also this is an open forum so get used to people making things personal when you are so adamant that you are right when you are not.

I think the problem started when people started describing Anthorn's posts as "nonsense", "daft", and "drivel", without explaining why they felt them to be wrong.

We reached a stage where we had two sides stating "I'm right" "no, I'm right" without saying why they believed they were right. I don't think this was helpful to the OP.

We finally reached agreement and understood the reasons for the initial confusion. Can we leave it there please?

When this site works at its best, people can be helpful to and learn from each other, and establish useful points of reference for other users.

You really need to get used to this forum and not take it very seriously. The reason why they didn't qualify their statements is that they didn't know and that they are just too concerned with following the lead sheep and attacking me. Look back through the thread and you'll see what I mean.

I've seen many good people leave MSE forums because it is often used not to help people but for personal attacks. But I suppose that's par for the course on any forum. Personally, I don't see such posts because if people cannot post reasonably I just block them.

For myself, I'm off the Cap D'Agde on Monday for 3 months and I don't have an Internet connection. I spend all my time lazing on the beach. I have a static caravan there but I believe there is a little cottage up for rent. Rest assured though as Arnie says, I'll be back.

Cue detractors and personal attackers. Tip: Focus on how I get my income lol.
