My ancient Remington beard trimmer works fine from the shaver socket. Bought a Wahl one to replace it decades ago but it was useless so I still use the Remington.

Yes, it is interesting, when I have the facts, I shall insert or not insert. For now the shave plug socket shall remain idle.

Not sure what "facts" you still need? At worst the shaver socket is wired to the bathroom lighting circuit - rated to 6A. It's isolated anyway by means of the internal transformer - that's why they're allowed in bathrooms.

The clipper uses 230V - the socket will have 110(115) and 230(240)V sockets. The shaver socket has no earth pin, the clipper needs no earth, it's double insulated. You have a BS:1363 3 pin to 2 pin adaptor to allow you to make a safe physical connection.

Just plug the bloody thing in - it'll be fine.
