Run chkdsk.
Run a defrag, should be automatic on w7 but it may have been switched off for some reason.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Which browser do you use? IE? Chrome? Firefox? Safari?
If you have more than one installed, try loading MSE with another to see if it's quicker. If it is, then 'something' associated with the previous browser is slowing it - extensions, add-ons, whatever. If not, then the problem lies elsewhere.0 -

PC's don't get ill. Things fail mechanically causing bottlenecks, or poorly written software does the same. Identify the bottlenecks, remove them and you'll be fine.0

defrag completed.
I use chrome & its the only one loaded. I do have extensions etc on it so perhaps I need to part with them. that would be realy annoying as they are there to help me, not hinder.

Disable all the chrome extensions then see which one might be causing a problem by re-enabling each one at a time.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0
