I'm becoming increasingly frustrated at my desktop. I keep it clean & anything that seems out of line I take it to the PC doctor but now it feels really sluggish, pages slow to load and today has been particularly difficult. Last week I also moved the router to make sure there was no interference that way.
Having rebooted due to hanging pages it has taken around 50 minutes to get on MSE & be able to post. meantime I've had lunch & checked FB on my ipad so its not the actual internet connection.
If anyone has time to walk me through a check up I would appreciate it. Tell me what you need to know and we wil take it from there.
Thanks, thanks, thanks.

I think the first thing to try is a malware bytes scan:
Download and run this
http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/download/eb8974fd2d7e2f91369d98250ffc2422/
NB untick the box for free trial of full product when installing.
How much free hard disk space do you have ?Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

If you haven't already increased the RAM; 2 x 2GB DDR3 PC3-10600 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.5V 256Meg x 64 £24.97
Back up your important data and run a Factory Restore if necessary.0 -
